Okay, but according to The Urban Dictionary...

Yippy Skippy: a sarcastic answer to anything that you have to do or something that doesn't sound fun. Also can be used when you just don't give a damn about something and want to use sarcasm.

Your usage of it doesn't seem to chime with that definition...unless you can 'splain it.
Okay, but according to The Urban Dictionary... br ... (show quote)

I dated a girl from Kerrville, Texas who would say Yippy skippy in anticipation of something fun.

Fiddle dee dee for something not so pleasant!

"blankety, blankety, blankety!!" That reminds me of a restaurant in Texas I visited for the first time. I asked where the bathroom was and was pointed to a door in the back. I went through that entrance and there were two doors. One read "Bla" and the other "Bla, bla, bla, bla, bla ,bla, bla, bla, bla." Like "blankety," easy to read.

Bla=guys. Bla,Bla, . . . . . = girls.

It is my opinion that much of the discourse on OPP is honest enough, though highly combative in nature. I believe that posters usually simply disagree as a result of having different perspectives acquired from their life experiences. The problems in discourse may very well lie in the likelihood that political exchanges can be and often are similar in passion to religious discussions.

Imagine, if you will, a rabbi, priest or pastor trying to convince the others of their religious convictions or beliefs with the hopeful result of a spiritual or theological conversion. As respected as each of the three aforementioned may be, the odds are strongly against that coming to fruition as the result of their efforts. And, partisan/ideological zealots generally approach those with opposing political views with the fervor of religious evangelists.

As a result, on OPP, it often appears not enough for a true believer to believe as they do. All others must also believe, or the offended may become self-righteous, indignant or even angry, bitter and vindictive. Thus, OPP's political discourse often ends in being similar to the story of the boy who angrily takes his football home with him due to others not playing by his rules.

I close with a favorite quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin: "If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins."
It is my opinion that much of the discourse on OPP... (show quote)

I apologize for my wordy response.

I have a sister who lived in Kerrville for years. It is a beautiful town, and what I like best about it is their fabulous Cowboy Museum. It was chock-full of both Remington & Russell paintings and sculptures. I always made a point of stopping there when heading west on U.S./I-10. It has been a while, though.

You've lost me there, Rose. To what "wordy response" are you referring

You're already on my good side for favoring USMC Dress Blues.

I was kidding. My response was just a thumbs up - no elaboration.

Thank you for clarifying with this explanation. I should'a figured it out , but responded before I gave enough thought to your brevity.

Also, I thank you for your 'thumbs up.'

I will be in the neighborhood for the Llano arts festival, I think its called, coming soon. My Honey and grand daughter will be in Kerrville the days prior to that. I love the area and will be hopping around Marble Falls the Friday prior to the festival. It actually starts Friday I think.

I wish it was a bit later for some great wild flower actions!!

I don't know how you're traveling, but Kerrville has a state park and the surrounding area has camping. The state park sits right on the Guadalupe River running through downtown Kerrville.

I don't deny my sexist persona. I know them and they know me. To deny nature is to deny ourselves!!
