According to Mexican News
A caravan of about 1,000 undocumented migrants from Central America crossed into Mexico yesterday.
The migrants arrived at the Guatemala side of the Rodolfo Robles international bridge in Tecún Umán on Monday, when they requested assistance from Mexican authorities in Hidalgo, Chiapas.
But when they were advised that the humanitarian permit program had concluded, they crossed the border.
Overwhelmed by the size of the caravan, Mexican authorities decided to open the gates and let the migrants cross.
One suffered a seizure and died on the bridge but the incident did not interrupt the caravan’s progress into Mexico.
Federal Police and the National Immigration Institute (INM) agents attempted to stop the migrants before they reached the municipality of Frontera Hidalgo, but they were repelled with stones.
Several official vehicles were damaged and at least 20 people were arrested.
The caravan’s progress was not interrupted by this incident, and the authorities allowed it to continue on its way north.
On Sunday, a smaller group of about 200 Central American migrants also crossed illegally, but they were contained by the Federal Police and INM officials.

We seem to hear about these 'caravans' on a more or less weekly basis these days. Why did we never hear of them during the Obama administration? They must have been doing this during that time as well, right?

Yes there were caravans during the obama time, but they actually have been a 'natural' occurrence for hundreds of years. Those caravans were mostly small and disorganized. They began to "blossom" after hurricane Mitch hit in 1998 and then other natural disasters, but the main impetus came from a man named Jeb Johnson who worked for obama's administration. He took a few trips to Central America and rolled out the red carpet.... invited Central Americans to pack what they could carry and bring the children, if they made it to our Souther Border, then "welcome to America." Social media picked this up, spread the word.... organizers with assistance from Progressives in the USA... found a way to make money... charge those who are willing, and could afford to pay $6000 and escort them through Mexico. News media was uninterested, after all these were not an invasion, but invited families. Media only got interested when Central Americans began sending unaccompanied children. Limited processing space at the border, limited foster families caused over crowding. So, during obama's term these people were invited .... not "illegals" unless they did not come through a designated entry....which was rare because they were in an "exempt or protected" status. At the end of obama term, the policy expired, but the caravans that had already assembled chose to ignore the policy change. But.... at the heart.... this was a set up to fail for anyone elected that did not endorse open borders. With Killary.... it would not have been an issue, she would have extended the policy and no one would be the wiser.

Yet another 'Obama bomb'. Now I get it. Thanks Penny.
