Trumps Russian enablers are at it again, time to crack down

A wide-ranging disinformation campaign aimed at Democratic 2020 candidates is already under way on social media, with signs that foreign state actors are driving at least some of the activity.
The main targets appear to be Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), four of the most prominent announced or prospective candidates for president.
A POLITICO review of recent data extracted from Twitter and from other platforms, as well as interviews with data scientists and digital campaign strategists, suggests that the goal of the coordinated barrage appears to be undermining the nascent candidacies through the dissemination of memes, hashtags, misinformation, and distortions of their positions. But the divisive nature of many of the posts also hint at a broader effort to sow discord and chaos within the Democratic presidential primary.
The cyber propaganda — which frequently picks at the rawest, most sensitive issues in public discourse — is being pushed across a variety of platforms and with a more insidious approach than in the 2016 presidential election, when online attacks designed to polarize and mislead voters first surfaced on a massive scale.

You may or may not realize that you and your fellow laughing idiots are easy targets for disinformation campaigns. You are ripe for the picking. No need for further research.

YOU are also "ripe for the picking"! You think the right arm of the corporate party is the sole purveyor of disinformation? Everything about the trumpy/ruskie collusion has been one big left arm of the corporate party disinformation campaign.

The identity politics of both arms of the corporate party is a distraction and a scam. It divides Americans harmed by run-away economic inequality into hostile camps who are so preoccupied with each other that they fail to see their common oppressor: a wealthy capitalist elite that has captured their government by funding the elections of politicians in both parties and those elite could care less which arm wins as they will still be in control while you sheople are distracted by the identity politics of racism, sexism, xenophobia, big vs little government, and on and on and on... while they continue to fleece the ignorant and distracted sheople. The last thing they want is for the sheople to realize their using government to continue their thievery.

It is from POLITICO as should be apparent from how the word is in all caps in the article. I apologize, I often forget to dumb down posts so the right wing fringe can understand.

Oh, of course. When you Dems attack and lie about President Trump without respite it's just political discourse. When a Republican makes a political observation it's "insidious."

You are, at best, a real piece of work.

You have probably heard that recent investigations into the "trumpy/ruski collusion" have resulted in criminal counts against more than 30 people and three Russian entities. Facts trump scams.

This article and my point have nothing to do with political discourse within the nation, it is obviously at a low point. This article is pointing out that foreign powers are waging a campaign to misinform voters and build animosity against candidates very early in the election process. This should be of concern to every American and every one living in the free world. If Trump wanted to build his credibility with all of the nation rather than just his cult members he would loudly condemn these campaigns and go after the culprits with a blow torch and pliers. It would cost him nothing at all and do much to restore faith in our institutions. The only reason he isn’t outraged or even paying attention to this attack on our republic is obvious. He is in bed with the perpetrators.

And naturally, by your light, they are "Trump's Russian operatives" or something?

Maybe you should take a rest, fly someplace where there is white sandy beach, sparkling blue ocean and tall exotic drinks with those paper umbrellas.

Recent investigations? The gddamn butthurt lefts' witch hunt has been going on for 2 years. WHERE has there been any evidence connecting trumpy? How many of the "criminal counts" against those 30 people were for collusion with the ruskies? What were the ruskie entities "criminal counts"?

Just who are those "foreign powers" that are "waging a campaign to misinform voters" that are already misinformed? Especially the ones that think there is something to the phony witch hunt against trumpy. I contend that there is nothing trumpy could do that would convince butthurt moonbats like you. Maybe the only reason he isn't outraged or pays any attention is because there is no truth to the allegations against him and he is smart enough to let the deep state apparatchiks and their left arm of the corporate party hang themselves.

You should include links so its not plagiarism. And then people can read the whole thing.
