I had disgust for Donald Trump for decades before he ever announced a desire to be president. As a businessman, he gained the majority of his wealth by screwing others. Even now, though his Washington hotel is making millions he is trying to screw the workers who remodeled it for him out of millions in wages earned with hard labor. So Donald has earned the disgust that is shown to him and even though Melania is clearly a gold digger I don't think we have the disgust that you seem to think that we show. Mostly I look at her and think how sad but I would never accuse her of having a dick and being a man. And Barron I don't know of an ill world leveled against him whereas both Obama girls were in constant ridicule that has continued even to this day.

So with Trump, there is a reason to detest him--if not his business practices--than his conduct against the rule of law and his intentional desire to divide this country. You say Obama was a racist? Obama wasn't in Office a week when Mich McConnell vowed to make him a one-term president. Now mind you, it's not like we had a booming economy but the only ammo--the minority had was to block that would better the economy. And you conservative did this for the bulk of Obama's eight years blocking any and all legislation that he tried to get through.

And even with that the economy recovered but you conservatives would never acknowledge it and if unemployment went down it was because Obama rigged the numbers. Under Obama unemployment went from a high of 10% to a low of 4.7% with a regression line that would have rendered the same unemployment number today no matter who was president.

Did Trumps tax cut help--sure anytime you dump trillions into the economy it will improve one year to the next but we also got with it nearly two trillion in new debt--more debt than was initially dumped into the economy so it was less than a push and because a trillion a year in new debt is projected to continue Trump's economic policy is far worse than Obama could ever be accused of. Obama ran debt during a recession and each year after had less debt than the previous while with Trump the trend is the opposite meaning that it's Trump's policies that will bankrupt this nation through you conservatives crowed that that was what "Socialist" Obama was going to do.

As for Obama's racism. You will have to explain to me through his words as actions--as can be done with Trump--otherwise you are simply trying to deflect using projection and nothing more...

Yes. BHO stirred the pot. And many Americans looked at his presidency as a time when civil right issues for the blacks would finally be addressed. But he steered clear of the issue so that race relations actually worsened during his tenure......

I think that is what I find so disappointing about today because from then to now it doesn't seem like we've even taken even two steps. Trump wouldn't be president today if he hadn't gained fame with birtherism--an "ism" that was driven purely by racism. It's one thing to dislike a president but seldom is it carried over to the first family where even today Michelle and the girls seem to find ridicule of our conservative friends. Someone sees a fold in the First Ladies dress and suddenly she's a man for which those rumors are still in circulation. So what crime, other than their race did they serve?

No, I seriously had thought our nation had come further than it had but we elected a racist president so it not by racism than based on what would bring him to power?

Curious? What did thinking Obama wasn’t a citizen have to do with racism?

Racism is not just practiced by one race or one country for that matter. We are one of the few countries that acknowledge it,!fight against it and have laws against it. Many parts of the world are much more racist than we are. Hell they still have cast systems in place. Unfortunately democrats have turned the word racist into a joke. If you voted for Trump you’re a racist. If you disagree with progressives on anything you’re a racist. If you quote actual stats on a race and the stats are negative you’re a racist. Everyone is now a racist. If you think AOC is an idiot you’re a racist. So I guess I’m a racist.

Some Black men had brought their children to the pool to play. My mother wouldn't let us go in the pool but she said we could come back tomorrow. We came back the next day and the pool had been drained and there were men with scrub brushes cleaning it. That's the way it was in Oregon. There were sundown laws in a lot of Oregon towns. I know this will make me look bad but I have to be honest. I am not a racist but I wouldn't want my daughter to marry one.

We're all products of our environment. The environment is different now than it was 60 years ago. I grew up near Argonne labs, where in the 50s and 60s had scientists from all over the world. So the only "ethnic" people I knew were all rich and well traveled. I found them exotic and fascinating.

PeterS: For the last time. People started out hopeful and excited about Obama's presidency. Many white people voted for him the first time because they saw a fresh new face and thought he'd be good for the country. BUT his policies were abysmal, and his excuses became tiresome (Bush did it). His failed presidency had nothing whatsoever to do with race, and everything to do with....FAILURE.

...apart from bringing us back from the financial disaster left him by Bush? Giving healthcare to 16 million people who didn't have it or couldn't afford it before? Ended official governmental discrimination against gay American citizens?

I don't care about the birther thing but I do believe the left proclaimed it racist merely because Obama is black. Actually half black. The left cried racism early and often. In some cases justified but in more cases than not, not justified. They had to do something as Obama had zero qualifications but was chosen by somebody to be president. Hillary Clinton was better qualified and who could predict her skewering by left leaning media. A bizarre spectacle. Who is really running this show? It's not 'we the people'.

I never liked Obama as president or Michelle as first lady and they did endure some undue criticism. But some of it was deserved - such as Obama himself being racist. Say what you will about Trump but Obama was, like it or not, often racist was when in office.

Yeah....Bush. uh huh. Creating a healthcare system that doubled , tripled and quadrupled premiums. Excellent. Check. Allowing gays who wanted "transition therapy and surgery" to join the military to get that on our dime? Oh, yes, excellent. Check.
