Migrants from Terrorist Nations Try to Enter U.S. Via Mexico at Record Rates—300% Hike in Bangladeshis in Texas Alone

Federal agents along the southern border routinely encounter individuals from terrorist nations and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) considers them one of the top threats to the United States, according to a congressional report made public this month. Titled “Stopping Terrorist Travel Through Illicit Pathways to the Homeland,” the document outlines the findings of a lengthy investigation involving Special Interest Aliens (SIA) by the House Homeland Security Committee.

SIA’s are individuals from countries outside the western hemisphere—mostly the Middle East, Asia and Africa—that pose a national security risk to the U.S. In Laredo, Texas alone there was an astounding 300% increase in immigrants from Bangladesh, a south Asian Islamic country well known as a recruiting ground for terrorist groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS).

Congressional investigators found that the number of SIAs flowing north via Latin America has increased tremendously in the last few years thanks to established Transitional Criminal Organizations (TCO) that facilitate travel along drug and migrant smuggling routes. “On a recent Committee staff delegation trip to Latin America, Panamanian officials communicated to Committee staff that tens of thousands of SIAs have entered Panama since 2014,” the report states. “Colombian officials communicated similar numbers to Committee staff, stating that hundreds of SIAs have entered Colombia each year for the past few years. In both countries, nearly all the SIA migrants were headed to the United States and originated from the Middle East, Asia, and Africa—including Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Bangladesh, India, Eritrea, and many others. Additionally, encounters with these special interest individuals resulted in the seizure of tens of thousands of fraudulent documents—including passports and visas—that facilitated travel from their countries of origin through the Americas.”

The report includes several disturbing cases of Islamic terrorists who made it to the U.S. via Mexico. Among them are Mohammad Aldairi, a Jordanian arrested last summer in New York for illegally smuggling SIAs from Yemen across the U.S.-Mexico border into Texas.

Others include Pakistani Sharafat Ali Khan, convicted for smuggling fellow Pakistanis with terrorism ties into the U.S.; Somalian Abdullah Omar Fidse, a member of the al-Shabaab terrorist group; Somalian Ahmed Muhammed Dhakane, a member al-Qaeda linked al-Barakat and Al-Ittihad Al-Islami and Lebanese Mahmoud Yousef Kourani, a fighter, recruiter and fundraiser for Hezbollah.

Kourani paid a Beirut consular officer $3,000 for a Mexican visa and an additional $4,000 to be smuggled across the U.S.- Mexico border, according to information included in the report. Some of the other SIAs also operated smuggling rings through south and central America.

“Latin America and the Caribbean are the major initial entry points to the Western Hemisphere for SIAs,” the House Homeland Security Committee report states. “Many countries in the region continue to face economic and governance challenges, as well as consistently high levels of violent crime. Additionally, many of the countries in the Americas have lenient visa and immigration policies in place, even for individuals from ‘special interest’ countries.

Lastly, the frequency of international flights from ‘special interest’ regions around the world into Latin America and the Caribbean continues to increase. These regional issues create an attractive environment for illicit travel of SIAs and other nefarious actors into the Western Hemisphere with the end goal of reaching the United States.”

Adding to the problem is that Hezbollah is “growing at an alarming rate in Latin America,” according to Committee investigators. “Designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the State Department, Hezbollah has been operating in Latin America since the early 1990s when it worked with Iran to carry out the 1994 bombing of a Jewish Community Center in Argentina,” according to the report.

The House investigation found that, as of September 2018, a record 630 Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested trying to enter the U.S. illegally in Laredo, Texas alone. That marks a 300% increase from the previous year. “The routes facilitating the illicit travel of these Bangladeshis are mostly controlled by TCOs and drug cartels, which charge tens of thousands of dollars to smuggle SIAs and other migrants across the U.S.,” the committee writes.

It also confirms what Judicial Watch reported months ago, that the recent migrant caravan has included several SIAs and suspected terrorists. Judicial Watch traveled to the Guatemala-Honduras border back in October and government sources in Guatemala confirmed that SIAs waiting to get smuggled into the U.S. through Central America integrated with poor Hondurans in the caravan. Among them were nationals of Bangladesh, which appears on the Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control’s Counter Terrorism Designations list.

My degrees are in Geology and Education. I can still remember the impact on my thinking in my freshmen year when they played for one of our lessons the full length documentary “San Francisco: The City That awaits To Die”. I think “live in San Fran or LA, are you kidding me?”

You can monitor day by day, seismic activity and volcano activity along the Western seaboard of the US from any number of sites. I can clearly recall my first trip to Portland and the realisation that Portland is built on the flanks of Mt Hood, last major eruption being late 1700s, last significant eruption was mid 1800s. In its pattern it’s overdue. My first impression was “are you kidding me?”.

Then there is the Cascadia subduction zone. OMG - Really... live on the West Coast?

These three catastrophes-waiting -to-happen are intimately linked, with well overdue pressure release events in the future - possibly the near future.

I’m sick of the liberal attitude. If they want to secede, let it come before the rest of us have to foot the bill for the future disasters.

Living along a subduction zone is a lifestyle choice. My choice of Idaho has taken into account a lot of factors. I have studied Yellowstone and have good reasons why I think the sensationalists are making the wrong predictions.

On the balance of risks, I believe West Coast disasters lie within my span of years and a Yellowstone super eruption does not.

You would be safer moving back to Idaho.

When asked, most people will tell you that the Civil War was as a result of southern states’ desire to keep slavery. But scholars will tell you that the reasons for the conflict were much more unclear… the slavery issue is a major factor, but taxation and states’ rights also played a large part.

Now, substitute the word “sanctuary” for “slavery” and realize that the growing number of sanctuary cities, counties, and states are rapidly approaching the same mindset and financial picture that the Confederate States of America had from 1860 to 1865.

Civil War II has never been closer than it is today. Look at an updated map of the United States. It is readily apparent that the entire west coast, a large area in the upper midwest, and the upper northeast are already identified as sanctuary areas. These jurisdictions… heavily influenced by years of failed Democrat leadership, and now emboldened by anti-Trump sentiments, have undertaken the protection of illegal immigrants with the same enthusiasm as their slavery-holding counterparts from the 1860s.

More recently, it started almost innocuously with certain Democrats refusing to call the border transgressors “illegal immigrants.” To soften the specter of illegality, “undocumented worker” was suggested by the Left. Not at all different from the slaveowners, who were willing to call their human slaves “property,” in order to get around the law.

As soon as the children of illegal immigrants were born here, and approached voting age, they were given the romantic name “dreamers,” and Liberals from all levels of government rose up to protect them with specific legislation.

There followed, a determined, but low-key, all-out effort to excuse the illegality of those aliens who sneaked into the greatest nation on earth. And the self-identified sanctuary jurisdictions quickly became a haven for the huge number of illegal aliens… even those committing addition felonies while here. Hard-line Democrats became so vitriolic in defense of illegal immigration, that they even began to call for open borders. Many political arguments ensued, with the result being that Liberals began to legislate in favor of illegal immigrants over native-born citizens. Criticism of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents as heavy-handed and heartless followed. Sanctuary jurisdictions forbid their law enforcement officers from cooperating with ICE when illegal immigrants are apprehended, while some of the most extreme leftists called for the elimination of ICE altogether.

Enter Donal J. Trump, 45th President of the United States. Trump had been elected by a huge number of Americans disgusted by the immigration lawlessness being espoused and encouraged by Democrats and Liberals. Serious crimes committed by the millions of illegal immigrants already here began to draw major attention. The entire nation has grown all too familiar with the plights of illegal immigration victims Kate Steinle, and more recently, California police officer Ronil Singh.

But the Democrats, apparently unfazed by American victimization by illegal immigrants, marched on. California governor, Gavin Newsome, newly elected, immediately pronounced that his state would be the first ALL-SANCTUARY state in the nation. New York Mayor, Bill DeBlasio, followed with the announcement that New York City would become the first to give free healthcare to all residents… including illegal immigrants. Both men obviously unaware or not caring that their actions would soon attract thousands upon thousands of additional illegal immigrants. Much like uber-vocal open-border Liberals had KNOWINGLY lured thousands of Central Americans to the US southern border in the recent several well-publicized caravans.

Although Trump has law and history on his side, overcoming the destructiveness of sanctuary cities, states, and counties will not be easy. Like Liberal jurisdictions, some courts in the sanctuary jurisdictions are also Liberal, and willing to do anything to thwart Trump. The standoff between POTUS and the Schumer/Pelosi obstruction to a southern barrier has caused the federal government to be closed indefinitely. Trump’s every legal move is challenged and will be so until those Liberal courts are legally challenged and restructured. President Trump has threatened sanctuary jurisdictions with the loss of federal funds, and the issue, stopped by lower courts, awaits the ruling of the Supreme Court.

Despite the outcome of the Supreme Court’s anticipated interpretation of the law, approximately half of the country will still be angry. Whether or not they will be angry enough to secede from the Union is another question. But the similarities to the hard-nosed opposition by sanctuary jurisdictions to those states once protecting slavery is real enough that Americans should be very worried.

I'd like to point out that the term "illegal immigrant" is no better, no different than "undocumented immigrant." Illegals are, in no way, immigrants. Immigrants are forrigners who, at least, respect our sovereignity, our laws/policies, and follow them to get permission to come to the USA. Illegals respect NOTHING except their own desires. They arrive at our border with every intention of entering the USA by any means necessary, including sneaking in while evading authorities. They are quite willing to lie to the USA. They are quite willing to abuse their children to exploit American's weakness for protecting women and children. Illegal aliens are simply foreign migrants wanting the material wealth of Americans, intending to steal all they can, and even feel us giving them everything is their right, that they deserve it because we have it and they don't. I must admit that most of our legal immigrants today come from third world cesspit nations and have the same attitudes and intentions as the Illegals and lying asylees. In fact, for the majority of foreigners in our nation today, there is little difference in them except their path getting here. Most of them, both legal and illegal, refugees/asylees/TPS, are burdens on US taxpayers from day one. BUT, the labels for the two groups should not be confused. Immigrants come here legally. Illegals do not come here legally and cannot be factually considered immigrants.

I'm totally convinced this is way beyond stupid and it is a national mental health crises. Everyone sees how the West Coast has been destroyed by illegals, crime, drugs, and crazed Leftist. I wouldn't even call them Democrats any more. JFK was a Democrat that gave his life trying to warn us. The people didn't listen and the media was all ready bought and paid for. Because of Democrats we have an organized network of terrorist in this nation just waiting to strike. With a wide open border to think otherwise is the thinking of someone mentally incapable to thinking. With there being so many of these people I see no other way but a civil war to remove this cancer if it isn't already too late. All who care about America need to read the article including the mentally ill.

School children walk to school dodging dirty hypodermic needles and the addicts using them. Starbucks now offers needle disposal boxes. Sanitation workers hired to remove human feces from the streets. This is madness. Whatever it takes.or we will be destroyed.

While we, rightfully, condemn states like California and New York, the problem of both illegal aliens and sanctuary are all over our country now, West, east, North and South. And while I abhor the stupidity and stupidity of my government allowing tens of millions of illegal aliens and lying fake asylees/refugees/TPS foreigners to invade our country, I also abhor my government deliberately adding one and a half million of, mostly, the same type of foreigners to our country EVERY YEAR. I always remember Obama's vow to transform America and what better, easier, quicker way to do exactly that than changing the people... replacing Americans with foreigners who bring their countries/way of life with them and never assimulate here. Our country becomes less American and more balkinized every year of this insanity. I often wonder, in 75-100 years from now, will there be any actual true Americans in the USA? Will there even be a "united" states?
