Warning from Police:

This is the new thing these days with people who don't want to work but still need cash, especially during the Holiday Season! Beware, it's headed our way.

Warning..!!!! Warning..!!!! Warning.!!!!

Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public parking area. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. When I took it off after I got home, it was a receipt for gas. Luckily my friend told me not to stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the car...

Then we received this email yesterday:

WARNING FROM POLICE:
THIS APPLIES TO BOTH WOMEN AND MEN...
BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE – NEW WAY TO DO CARJACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating.. You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into reverse.
When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car.

So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.
If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want it to fall into the wrong hands.

Please keep this going and pass it on to your friends.

Fascinating and very scary. I probably would not have a problem with it because I seldom travel without both Mastiffs loose in the car.
I just posted an article about the fraud of using a dog or other animal as an emotional support animal to get it on a palne or in a restaurant where it is not supposed to be. Worth looking at too.

I sent this out and BearK said that she fact checked it and it came back false. I don't remember who she fact checked it with. I just checked and she fact checked it with snopes so for whatever that is worth they said it was false.

Why would you bother fact checking something which could potentially save you from being robbed or killed? The only down side is that there is a piece of paper on your back window and police never put notices there, they go under the wiper blades, in the front. It pays to be reminded of the numerous ways that thieves come up with to separate you from your property and valuables. They can't all be politicians.

Bad month to finish off a bad year. Had congestive heart failure robbing me of breath in early December followed by Sciatica for the first time in my life and then a nice bout of Bronchitis degenerating into Pneumonia, to round out the year with a combination of all three. The last ailment put me back in the hospital for the fourth time that year, between Christmas and New Year. So many problems I didn't know which to get treated first and it isn't over yet.

This is another good reason to always back into a parking place when possible plus it is always safer to drive out of the space than back out.

Well take care of yourself and take it easy. The end of 2018 has been hard on a lot of us older people I'm not sure why but the slightest colds are ending up pneumonia. Unfortunately, a lot of older people don't run fevers till they are really really sick. I have never had pneumonia and didn't really feel sick but when I was at work I started feeling light-headed and making mistakes so I got off and went to urgent care and bingo pneumonia no fever and a croupy cough. I hope 2019 is a better year and that your health issues end so you can have a wonderful 2019. It's great to have you back

You are in our prayers. May you have a quick recovery and much more time in comfort and know that God loves you, as do a lot of us mortals.
