We need term limits for All of Congress and the Supreme Court. I don't trust these old Goats making decisions that affect all of our lives.

In a move that has shocked insiders, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has announced she will miss oral arguments for the first time in more than 25 years Monday. She continues to recuperate from last month’s lung cancer surgery.

The stunning move has confirmed rumors that Ginsburg’s health is in a downward spiral — and led to speculation on whether the 85-year-old justice will resign.

Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Monday the 85-year-old Ginsburg is continuing to recuperate and work from home after doctors removed two cancerous growths from her left lung on Dec. 21.

Ginsburg was discharged from a New York hospital on Christmas day but still isn’t well enough to work.

Should the court’s eldest justice call it quits, it would give President Donald Trump a historic third Supreme Court nomination in just two years.

Ginsburg had two earlier cancer surgeries in 1999 and 2009 that did not cause her to miss court sessions. At her advanced age, Ginsburg’s recovery could be long and difficult.

She also has broken ribs on at least two occasions, including just two months ago.

The court said doctors found the growths on Ginsburg’s lung when she was being treated for fractured ribs she suffered in a fall at her office on Nov. 7.

“The Supreme Court justices are back on the bench Monday for the first time in the new year. The court will hear arguments in two cases. The first is a battle over the preemption federal and state laws and the second case is over whether fair debt collection laws apply to nonjudicial foreclosures, which do not require a court’s approval,” The Hill reported.

What are your thoughts?

Is it time for Ruth Bader Ginsburg to resign and enjoy her remaining years?

Or should she continue to work despite her rapidly failing health?

Is it time for Ruth Bader Ginsburg to retire?

Hang in there Honorable Ginsburg.

I am 80 years young and in negotiations to expand my tree farm with a small 510 acre tract only 1/4 mile from my 2,570 acres.

Maybe the better question is, how many opinions will she render after her actual death (I mean we're apparently ok with dead people voting democrat)?

Good one.

Is she really still alive and lucid or is her staff sequestered at her residence writing questions and answers in her mighty name?

To be fair, she just had surgery, so if shes missing arguments for the first time in 25 or 30 years, no biggy. I hope she recovers. I also hope she retires

Can't imagine spending one's final years the object of so much hatred...

Deserves to retire with dignity and be remembered with honor...

I agree. Hate her politics, but in the other hand she thought the kavenaugh debacle was a shameful display by democrats and said so publicly, so she has some morals at least.

The right to disagree with an individuals views, ideologies, actions is of great importance, but should never override one's love and compassion for one's fellow man...

I was proud of her for speaking out concerning the Kavanaugh hearings...
The hearings truly did America no justice on the world stage...
But Kavanaugh has so far done much justice to his office...

I have wanted the old biddy to retire for years but she ain't gonna do it because she knows that would be the end of the progressive now and then left leaning win in the court. Maybe she could take Roberts with her, though.

I agree with you on the activist statement...

But the SCOTUS has suffered from a lack of proper respect (look at the Kavanaugh confirmation and the filth (my opinion) that was slung for example)...

I hope that in the future all members of SCOTUS can be treated with due respect for their POSITION...

If Ginsberg retires and President Trump nominates her replacement, who would be a Constitutional originalist, you can bet the Democrats will be even more dishonorable and sheer gutter trash-like than they were for the Kavanaugh confirmation.

The last thing they want is a Supreme Court that does its job as the founders intended.

I believe it would depend on who he (POTUS) selected... (But you are probably correct)...

Regardless of how an individual feels about a member of SCOTUS (or their rulings) the position needs to be treated with respect...

While I don't agree with her I do believe she is doing what she thinks is best for the country. I think its mostly the leadership of both parties that have their self interests and party above the good of the country.
