Putin was praising the move in Moscow today, that ought to tell you something. Then the idiot Pumpkinfuhrer said it made Russia mad because they would be fighting ISIS on their own. I guess he forgot that yesterday he said ISIS had been defeated leaving Russia with no one to fight, and hadn’t yet gotten word of Putin’s Christmas address. The Pumpkinfuhrer needs to add a minister of bullish!t to his cabinet to assist him in avoiding contradictory lies.
Trump allies and Republicans are questioning his Syria exitDon't y'all realize what happens when you create a vacuum, especially a military vacuum in that neck of the woods? Remember what happened in Iraq when Obama pulled our troops out? Who moved in almost over night? Remember what happened in Lybia when Kaddafi was taken out? The place went to shit in a hurry. Benghazi ring a bell? Do you realize who has been waiting for just this moment? Russia, Turkey, Iran, and possibly China and NK. If we leave Syria now, do you realize who will be the winners and who the losers?
Our fight against ISIS in Syria accomplished a hell of lot more than just kicking some ISIS ass, our presence there is, or was, a deterrent, it established some measure of stability in keeping the big boys out.
Our Kurdish allies are going to suffer immensely, Erdogan sees the Kurds as terrorists and has been champing at the bit to wipe them out. The Kurds have been fighting ISIS alongside us since the beginning, in fact they have done most of the heavy lifting on the ground.
Turkey said on Friday that a French pledge to help stabilize northern Syria controlled by Kurdish-dominated forces amounted to support for terrorism and could make France a “target of Turkey”.
Erdoğan has said that Turkey will launch a military operation against the Kurds in northern Syria within days, in a decision that could signal a shift in Turkish-US relations and have far-reaching consequences for Syria’s future. Long frustrated by US support for Kurdish militias that Turkey views as terrorists, Erdoğan has threatened to push deeper into north-eastern Syria since sending Turkish forces into the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in February.
Erdogan threatens new push against Syrian KurdsISIS is not defeated, they have been pushed back, but they are not defeated. Even the Pentagon knows this.
US troops are leaving, but ISIS is not defeated in SyriaIran is progressing quite rapidly in its nuclear weapons program with Putin's help. Iran (Shiites) and Saudi Arabia (Sunni) are rivals, serious rivals, Iran has wanted a piece of Saudi Arabia for quite some time.
Saudi Arabia and Iran's rivalry is key to the Middle East in 2018Trump launches full US withdrawal from Syria, leaving opening for IranSyria is a plug between Turkey and Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and ISRAEL. Yeah, Iran's number one Little Satan. This puts Israel in one hell of spot, doesn't it? They will definitely be able to defend themselves, BUT.
