BLADENBORO, N.C. — When GOP Rep. Robert Pittenger lost his primary by a narrow margin in May, he suspected something was amiss.
The congressman turned to a group of friends and family who had gathered with him on election night at a steakhouse near Charlotte and blamed the “ballot stuffers in Bladen,” according to three people at the gathering.
Pittenger’s concern stemmed from the vote tallies in rural Bladen County, where his challenger, a pastor from the Charlotte suburbs named Mark Harris, had won 437 absentee mail-in votes. Pittenger, a three-term incumbent, had received just 17.
In the days immediately after the race, aides to Pittenger told the executive director of the North Carolina Republican Party and a regional political director for the National Republican Congressional Committee that they believed fraud had occurred, according to people familiar with their discussions.

GOP officials did little to scrutinize the results, instead turning their attention to Harris’s general-election campaign against a well-funded Democratic opponent, the people said.
Their accounts provide the first indication that state and national Republican officials received early warnings about voting irregularities in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District, now the subject of multiple criminal probes.
A spokesman for the NRCC denied that Pittenger’s campaign raised the possibility of fraud in the primary.
Allegations of fraud in November’s general election have now put the outcome of the 9th Congressional District race in limbo. State investigators are examining the activities of a political operative named Leslie McCrae Dowless, who ran a get-out-the-vote effort for the Harris campaign during the primary and general elections---MORE-----

Pales in comparison to the blatant fraud by Democrats in California. Of course with Democrats in charge in California fraud will be the MO.

Why does it seem the GOP is the party of impotent wusses, when it comes to getting convictions for all these crimes?

California is a separate topic, is this something genetic that makes right winger's brains work like this? You can't talk about any isolated issue and the proofs and circumstances around it without trying to muddy up and obfuscate with another generally false equivalency. Rather than try to combine incidents, lets deal with each separately. This does not pale, and so what if it does, how should it be handled. Or is the remark that this pales compared to...mean it should be ignored, bygones, nothing done?

Read my response to the topic of this California "harvesting", it is not what we are looking at with North Carolina.

Democrats are using NC to divert attention from the larger issue of California which you care nothing about since it obained Democrat victories. You care nothing about fair elections.

They throw out the allegation, get their base all riled up about the supposed violation, meanwhile evidence of any wrongdoing is not available. They make huge deals about what "could" be happening, and expect to negate election results because of what could happen. It's the new language, we are dealing with what could happen...

Meanwhile the conflicts of interest that "could" be going on with Trump don't mean a thing even when it looks like could be is really happening. Then it's prove it.

That's the new double standard, dems have to deal with what they could be doing while republicans are good as long as there is no proof.

But meanwhile what should be done with NC? I think the GOP is trying to divert the bird in the hand to the thing that has no evidence.

Your response proves my point. If Democrats win you claim no evidence no matter what the facts. Nothing would ever get you to admit Democrat fraud. You do not care about real fraud because you are a frad pretending to want fair elecions.

I actually was rather interested/concerned about what has taken place in our elections. So I was looking at why it could take a month to do the counts. It's partially due to covering every potential for fraud that could be thought of that the system is time consuming.

The big thing was making sure that no fraud is involved with provisional ballots. They have a lot of labor intensive work involved making sure they are counted rather than tossed out, which is the biggest problem in some states. Provisional is seen by some states as a way to eliminate selectively one group's votes by targeting and creating provisional ballots that are easier to reject.
