[:quote=banjojack]A good many legends have a solid factual basis. For instance, there was most definitely a flood, although it happened several thousand years before the supposed Creation, and was the result of tectonic activity rather than forty days and nights of rain. Oral traditions become written traditions. There was a fairly well established Neolithic civilization in the Eastern Mediterranean about the time a flood did occur. Oral traditions become exaggerated over the years. Bear in mind that oral histories, or "campfire stories" are often embellished to make them more entertaining, and memorable. The Babylonians have a flood story which is considerably older than the one in the Bible.
In the 1840s, there actually was a man who was swallowed by a whale and lived to tell about it. It wasn't three days, but it was well past the time he should have survived. Could this not have happened in ancient times, and the event become the basis for the story of Jonah? Many legends, as I said, are factual events which have been exaggerated over the years, especially in the days when oral traditions were so much more important than today.[/quote]
Thank you Banjo. I am well aware of these facts also people have survived in ovens in the middle east just like the story in the old testament. Seems there is an area in the kiln ovens that isn't consumed with fire and a person can survive the fiery furnace provided they stand in the proper place. It definitely would seem miraculous in those days.
as it did when the experiment went well in the 20th century.

It somehow didn't link up with the article. Sorry. And I deleted the article after posting. I don't recall the name of it either. Perhaps someone else will run across it and it. At least I hope so.

I did locate it. It can be found at examiner.com/joenewby.

I have it here and even will supply it for the leaners to hear their hero speak.

I have never heard of either being what you posted. But then you are just rumor mongering. If one tells a lie big enough, and keeps it going, some dolts will begin to, at least partially, believe it. That is what you Progressives excel at.

The story about Bachman's husband has been around for some time and left leaners love to talk about it. I hadn't heard anything about Graham till I read that one's words, though.

Sadly these "Rumors " may have some merit. Michelle and hubby had their own "gay"reparitive company that was designed to Cure homosexuality.
Many question why they claimed the successful "cure"rate and the business was shut down when it became apparent she was trying to succeed in the political arena.
Graham I'm not too familiar with.
But anyone single after 25 seems fair game on assumption that they they "must be Homosexual
I'm fairly sure that the Bachmans are hiding something that is of a sexual deviant nature.
But it's up to voters to determine if it's so bad they shouldn't hold office. Unless she runs for president I'm not overly concerned that's for sure.
Sadly these b "Rumors " /b may have so... (show quote)

Oh miGod I didn't marry the first time till 32 and never did hear anybody accusing me of homosexuality. I guess maybe some people may have thought that, but nobody ever intimated it to me or any of my friends.

There was no reason to even bring it up, except to spread the rumor and denigrate those named. It had no place in the discussion. Should I spread the rumor that Obama is queer? It has been mentioned numerous times, but not by me, until now. I only do so to make a point about rumor mongering. Do I believe it, I don't know and don't care. it has nothing to do with his total incompetence.

The reason Mr. Bachman's and Sen. Grahams orientations are significant is hypocrisy. There is an emerging consensus in this nation that people should only "out" themselves and not be "outed" by others. There is also a consensus that this custom should be violated when the person in question also happens to be a self-hating gay basher. Bachman and Graham have brought the spotlight upon themselves.

And what was the reasoning behind your bringing it up on this thread. I do not recall how, or why, it was/is relevant to anything on this thread. Perhaps you could enlighten me.

I was responding to Kevyn's remark about Bill Maher saying that Michelle Bachman was "retarded". I was just giving a well known example of Michelle's cluelessness.

I personally don't care about Lindsey Graham's sexual preferences. I do care about his two-faced RINO ass voting record. He reminds me of one of my senators, who is a RINO until a few months before election day, at which time he suffers an attack of the "conservatives," relying, (successfully so far ), on the gnat like memory of voters for re-election.

Then in opinion, that was an uncalled for "clue". If it was as well known as you suggest, you would have been better served to seek another "clue", as I am sure she was NOT "clueless" to this allegation.

That would be the other one, Isackson. Chambliss is retiring, and my former congressman is running for his seat. Phil Gingrey is an MD, and an implacable foe of Obamacare. He is one of the most conservative congressmen, and is a leader of the fight to repeal the ACA. He is also opposed to amnesty and gun control. Far as I'm concerned, he just won the sweeps.

How about challenged? Michelle is so challenged that she doesn't realize her bed-mate is a "Lindsay Graham" style Republican.
