Many pro-lifers have opposed Roe vs. Wade in that it cites a constitutional right to privacy that was that was never found before. I maintain that there is a constitutional right to privacy due to the Ninth & Tenth Amendments.

These are the two amendments in their entirety:
Ninth - The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
Tenth - The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

From these two amendments, it is obvious that the Founders envisioned an entire constellation of personal rights that would devolve to the people and the states, governed and protected as they saw fit. The people had spoken and determined that abortion would be illegal as determined by the their legislatures.

Roe vs. Wade was an unconstitutional assault on the rights of the people and their legislatures.

I do vaguely remember discussions about this but most states as I remember had voted on abortion and a good number of states had voted it down and we felt like our votes didn't matter anymore because Washington would just override us if they didn't like the outcome of our votes. I kind of remember a lot of people were very upset at the time but no one did anything about it.

Enumerated Powers of the United States Constitution are enumerated in Article 1, section eight. Read them. After becoming knowledgeable about the limited powers of the national government enumerated in the Constitution it should be clear just how far the NG has usurped power that was reserved for the states. Abe Lincoln, the the most profound murder ever to be president; 650.000 murdered. Lincoln declared war on the South and sent troops in there and destroyed it. I didn't have to be that way. The federalists papers say that states have a right to withdraw from a tyrannical government. The Constitution states that states can have a militia in defense of a tyrannical gov. After the Civil War Lincoln clearly made his point: "no states rights." America has evolved into a DICTATORSHIP of a majority This country being a Democratic Republic is a joke. Why is it a joke? It's simple as a pimple on your nose. Th populous keep electing he same elitist to congress for 50 years. All the while congress is in session 128 days a year that is a fraud upon the people as well. They travel back to their homes on Fridays and return to WDC on Monday. They are only in DC 3 days a week while in session. On CSPAN any day all the chairs in the Senate are vacant. Including benefits US taxpayers are being ripped of $500,000 for every member. Perhaps, they are raising money while U are paying them half a million. Are U convinced yet term limits are necessary if we are to save our country? In the Federalist papers it is written that Congress will be composed of our peers. If that were true today we all would be millionaires in order to have our peers in Congress. Most folks in Congress are elitist and they are playing the population like a fiddle. Very few Americans have read, The Magna Carter, The Declaration of Independence, The Federalist Papers, The Articles of Confederation, or The Constitution.

The Constitution as written states that the National Government is to have limited powers as enumerated in the Constitution. These limited powers are spelled out. All other powers are reserved to states. The US government violated it's own Constitution. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS STATES RIGHTS. And it's getting worse. The constitution says THE POWER TO PASS LAWS------SHALL BE VESTED IN THE CONGRESS. However, Democrat judges sit in their $1000 chair behind a bench on 94 district courts and 12 circuit courts of appeal. These judges, most of whom were appointed by Democratic presidents make law rather than interpret law as required by the C. On top of the Federal Court System sits 9 black robed men and females who make law as well. Roe v Wade for example. The people have surrendered their government. In front of Independence Hall in 1887 a lady ask Ben Franklin, "what kind of government do we have? " He responded. "A republic if u can keep it."

Alex de Torqueville, author of DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA said: "the American Republic will survive until the day congress discovers that it can buy the public with pubic money." Congress figured how to do that starting 50 years ago and they are still doing if. Remember "The War on Poverty."
