Your Medicare Coverage
Is my test, item, or service covered?

type your test, item, or service here
Go
Preventive visit & yearly wellness exams
How often is it covered?
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers:

A "Welcome to Medicare" preventive visit: You can get this visit only within the first 12 months you have Part B. This visit includes a review of your medical and social history related to your health and education and counseling about preventive services, including these:
Certain screenings, shots, and referrals for other care, if needed
Height, weight, and blood pressure measurements
A calculation of your body mass index
A simple vision test
A review of your potential risk for depression and your level of safety
An offer to talk with you about creating advance directives.
A written plan letting you know which screenings, shots, and other preventive services you need. Get details about coverage for screenings, shots, and other preventive services.
This visit is covered one time. You don’t need to have this visit to be covered for yearly "Wellness" visits.

Yearly "Wellness" visits: If you've had Part B for longer than 12 months, you can get this visit to develop or update a personalized prevention help plan. This plan is designed to help prevent disease and disability based on your current health and risk factors. Your provider will ask you to fill out a questionnaire, called a “Health Risk Assessment,” as part of this visit. Answering these questions can help you and your provider develop a personalized prevention plan to help you stay healthy and get the most out of your visit. It can also include:
A review of your medical and family history
Developing or updating a list of current providers and prescriptions
Height, weight, blood pressure, and other routine measurements
Detection of any cognitive impairment
Personalized health advice
A list of risk factors and treatment options for you
A screening schedule (like a checklist) for appropriate preventive services. Get details about coverage for screenings, shots, and other preventive services.
Advance care planning
This visit is covered once every 12 months.

Who's eligible?
All people with Part B are covered.

Your costs in Original Medicare
You pay nothing for the “Welcome to Medicare” preventive visit or the yearly “Wellness” visit if your doctor or other qualified health care provider accepts assignment. The Part B deductible doesn’t apply.

The only time you're allowed "wellness checks" is if you get TESTS to go along with them. And said tests will cost you gobs of cash. That being said, you're still deflecting from my original statement that your meme was misleading and conflated Medicare and Medicaid.

I posted information from Medicare... read it again you get yearly check up and tests each year..

You think because people protesting the lose of Medicaid for others have no right to worry about the lose of their own medical coverage under Medicare??

the republicans threaten to remove it or reduce during every term.

We all should worry..

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

What state do you live in???

You may be right about paying for test... I do not.. but I have supplement insurance..

but it should be far better then not having any policy at all.

Some states do not offer medical coverage of any sort, if you live in one of those I have no idea what help you could find..

I live in Illinois. Where, frankly, if you're white and need help you're screwed. Conflating Medicare and Medicaid is very dishonest. Why would we lose Medicare when we pay for it? And why is free Medicaid so superior to paid for Medicare? To me these are the questions the pols who screwed up the works need to answer.

Lose Medicare when we pay for it???

that is what the republicans threaten during nearly every session..

Which is the reason the protesters are so upset..

When we pay for Medicare and SS,,,, what in the hell makes them think they can take it away..

I am not familiar with Medicaid so can not say if it superior or not..

But the intent is that Medicaid only applie to those with not options or resources.

that is a small number compared to the enormous number of elderly baby boomer etc.. older guys like me..

Perhaps as those have no way to to pay for or have insurance, it is cheaper to do the complete work in the present rather then wait for a time when the cost will be more..

the short answer is; I do not know..

Yeah me either. The pols saw a big pot of money in the social security fund and "borrowed" it. What I meant by Medicaid being superior is no monthly premium, no deductibles, pays 100% and covers dental and vision. At least in Illinois there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of people receiving this benefit. This is also a benefit we give away to illegals, which is wrong on so many levels I can't even address it here.

You do have a point..

I think paying out of pocket for vision and dental can be difficult for many retired..
