When I was a young lad I lived in a little town called Wells Nevada. Up in the Pequop mountains and just below the Ruby mountains. My grandpa was an agent for the railroad and believe it or not there was still a water tower and steam locomotives. There was a good old fashioned whore house there also called the Hacienda. It is still there. An old Madame named Ida Marvel owned the place. She was real nice and my Granny and her often had tea together. She had a very fine home and at Halloween she invited the kids into her front room. She had several parrots and a monkey. She would give us each a full size candy bar and a can of soda our choice. In the winter she had a large pond that froze over and every kid in Wells would go ice skating on it. She would send her maid out with buttered toast and hot chocolate for us kids while we were playing.. She was a grand old Lady. That is how I remember her.

Nice that your memories of childhood are good. Most of mine are, but I do have some bad ones,too. I usually try to remember the good times. I don't forget the bad ones, I try to use them to learn from them. After all, what good is a problem if you don't learn something from them. I thank GOD for all the good times in my life I like to ask HIM to show me the treasure that's hidden in the bad ones. Personally, I find life is easier to live this way. I don't want to survive this life, I want to thrive.

no but a group of us boys snuck up one night to look through the windows expecting to get an education but they were all covered over with tin foil

It was a hot summer nite,and the ladies took their gents up to the roof for a love making session,one couple got to close to the roofs edge,and fell off,landing on the sidewalk,a 7 year old boy,walking down the street,seen them fall,went up to the cathouse door,knocked,when the madam seen how young he was,she told him,youre too young to come in,the little boy told her,I dont want to come in,I just want to tell you,your sign fell off the roof.
