New York Times says lost jobs mostly a good thing.

The New York Times says that the loss of millions of jobs lost because of Obamacare is "mostly" a good thing because "the new law will free people, young and old, to pursue careers and retirement without having to worry about health coverage. Workers can seek positions they are most qualified for and will no longer need to feel locked into a job they don't like because they need insurance for themselves or their families. It is hard to view this as any kind of disaster."

In case you are confused by their backward logic, here's what they are saying: It's okay Obamacare caused you to lose your employer provided health insurance and/or your job, because now you are free to pursue the job you really want.

Oh, wait - except Obamacare killed that job too.

This is for all Democrats that have the initiative to check out anything. This automatically excludes "woofy" because all he can do is lie like his mentor Obummer and call everyone else liars.

What you doubt the New York Times and the liberal lefts circular logic? For shame on you don't you realize the Obama and Harry Reid , Nancy Pelosi and all those on the left have nothing but our best interests at heart. How else can we all run carefree through the tulips but for their ever watching eyes on us and protecting us from ourselves and even shielding us from that evil word work. Pretty soon we can have the Olympics here and have brown water and no infrastructure and the hotels won't be done either. Then we will look just like Russia.

You will have to add government funded housing, food stamps, electric subsidies, gas subsidies, Obama phone, Obama bucks and any and all subsided entities that are available. They will probably have to sell their home and automobile unless they are paid for and move into government run housing and take public transportation as well. But hey have a great life anyway.

carolyn-can you believe the audacity of the NYT to call themselves a news paper ? That liberal rag has to be run by the most senseless group of morons ever assembled in one place. To suggest that losing jobs is a good thing shows you just how badly warped their limited thinking really is. So Mary lost her job and cannot buy food, shelter, and clothing but she has health insurance. Hoorah !!! Good luck America !!!~

Now I know what I did wrong my whole life (69 1/2). I never did require my employers to provide me with health insurance! I always thought that if I got it, it was a plus. Silly me. I just looked for and prepared for a better job!

The New York Times is just another left-wing biased newspaper that has deteriorated from what a news media is supposed to be. It is not reporting news as it occurs, but is news as certain people in control allows it to be reported.
This is what has happened to us over the last 50 years(since the mid 1960's). And we were so caught up in our own little world that we did not have sense enough to notice it happening. But now on the eve of ruination, we are beginning to open our eyes and realize what we have allowed to happen. It is now time to either sh-- or get off the pot.

I never did either because at the time if one got a good job he/she could afford to buy their own insurance. If you remember, it was after Johnson's War on Poverty that he started giving out medical cards to everyone who did not feel like working. As soon as doctors and hospitals realized the money could be made from these bums, the cost of medical care went through the ceiling. Can you remember the beginning of the 1960's when people could still go to the doctor and pay their bill out of one's pocket? A doctor's visit for flu got you a shot and an envelope of pills for the grand sum of $5. The same thing happened to house rent. One could rent a very good house for way less than $100 per month. In fact, my husband and I rented one in Lafayette, IN. for $75 a month. But then when HUD came about, rent went to 4 and 5 times that amount for slum houses. That was the era that created the slum landlords, if you remember.
If you are 691/2 years old, I know you remember this happening. And lo and behold, it was the Democrat that did it to the working man. Even back then they protected the lazy bums and stuck it to the working person because the War on Poverty was nothing more than help for the worthless.

Amen! You still have a very sharp mind. I vaguely remember these things but was to busy with family and other things to really remember that well. But you are always right on target.

Thanks. I do remember these things. Too bad schools don't teach this history to our children today. We no longer learn from our mistakes.

Here is a good quote from Benjamin Franklin that I know is not being taught in our schools either.
Something which is lost in America today is the phenomenon of discomfort. It was once clearly understood that discomfort provides a valuable service in an economy. In one of Benjamin Franklin’s finest quotes he said,
I am for doing good to the poor, but…I think the best way of doing good to the poor is not in making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed…that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.

I lived this back in my youth. Worked for me. So of course I believe it will work for others. Some may be unable to help themselves but by far most just need to do for themselves.

I wonder how much money per month the New York Times get from government subsidized advertisement? What was the figure that Fox got just before they fired Glen Beck? Beck was the leading host on Fox but evidently the government's money was much more important than keeping the leading host on their network.
