Just a question on this. They're calling the protesters white supremacist or white nationalists. If this is the case, then why are they protesting the removal of the Robert E Lee statue? He was a southern general. So I'm not sure why they are calling them that. I believe they are protesting the fact that an important part of our history is going to be removed. How do we learn if we do not have history to learn from.

Any takers on this question? If your only coming on this thread to call names. Please stay home. Thx for your consideration.....

Actually I have been following this all morning. I believe the removal of statues of famous Americans is stupid. I also believe this alt-right white supremacist group is using the statue as a reason to rally and cause trouble. Much like those criminals in BLM used deaths of criminals to riot.

From USA Today:
"Police in riot gear cleared a downtown Charlottesville, Va., park of protesters Saturday after local authorities declared a "Unite the Right" rally an "unlawful assembly" following bottle-throwing clashes between alt-right demonstrators, counter-protesters, white nationalists, neo-Nazis and supporters of Black Lives Matter."

Consideing the groups involved in this rioting, the police did the nation a severe injustice. The should have let them riot to their hearts content and exterminate each other. Then they could have arrested whatever remained and lock them up for twenty or thirty years.

I am opposed to removing statues and other memorbilia celebrating the Confederacy simplky because soeone is offended. Someone is always offended no matter what is said done or allowed to be said or done. It is part of our history and the man (Robert E. Lee) was an honorable person who believe that the states rights were pre-eminent over the Federal government.

Considering Federal over-reach, it is too bad he lost. Slavery was a doomned institution, technology advances would have soon made owning slaves more expensive than their economic value. This practice would have been abandoned as it was throughout most of Europe.

Well stated per your usual. I wonder if Italy has torn down many of it's famous statues of emperors? Most of them weren't exactly upstanding people.

Nothing these commies do makes sense, Kankune. It is the old communist stunt to label anyone who dares disagree with their way of thinking a racist, bigot, islamophobe, hater, misogynist, etc.

There were no problems until busloads of the out-of-town professional thugs and fascists were brought in to counter the peaceful protesters.

Fighting for what you believe in is a good thing. Losing is a bad thing, but losing with honor is a good thing. Robert E Lee lost with honor and should be remembered as such. A statue of an honorable man hurts no one. If those that fought in the riot were fighting for what they believe in (either side)then good for them. If they ran screw 'em all. I think it's about time for us all to pick a side. Me--I'm for states rights. However, I do believe the states owe allegiance to the country as a whole when facing off against other countries. And maybe "we the people" need to get ready to take back our country by facing off against our own politicians. By that I mean vote them ALL out of office, or use force if need be.

kankune, They show KKK, and nazi signs. To me thats a fair piece of evidence. Lee was considered a traitor in his own time, why not now?He wasn't a southern general, he was a confederate general, and a former officer of the US army. He did more than give aid and comfort to a domestic enemy, he led an army against the American flag, and was responsible for thousands of deaths of American servicemen. Tearing down Lee's statue isn't erasing US history, it's correcting it. The only place confederate icons like Lee should be seen, is in history books, calendars and maybe Civil War battlefields.

I believe these forces are supported and motivated by George Soros, and the shadow government of Obama. Like MSM, they turned the facts around and labeled it the Right Wing forces. The fact is these are not for the Conservatives. These are for the Marxist rebels supporting the left wing agenda, and the democrat party. The purpose of this to destroy the reputation of the Republican conservatives.

Most of these kids are the millennials, brain-washed by the Liberal Progressive professors. The schools where they came from are funded by the American taxpayers. For the sake of diversity, there are so many college professors hired from various countries who do not have any loyalty to the United States. In fact they want to destroy the US, thus teaching these students to revolt and fight against the government. Many of these professors are Muslims, and from other countries of different ideology than our constitution. They teach the students not to follow the constitution because they call it racist.

So most of the kids instead of learning the academics, they learn about rebellion, fighting back the government, riots, for their own seeking to destroy the US. They want to take, not to serve or help the country. They are takers, became narcissistic and self-centered. They demonstrate violence to destroy this Republic of the United States.

These kids are the opposite of the former kids in college whose motto is love, honor, and obey God, parents, and the government of our republic. They do not belong to the Conservative Republicans. They are soldiers of the left and the democrats.

Soros and the progressive lefts are busy in their mission to destroy America.

That's what I'm hearing on TV right now. When they come in by busloads with protective gear on ready for a fight, it only leads me to believe it's Soros thugs.
