Lets Go Shoot Some Freedom

Happy 4th of July as well~~~~

A man overwhelmed with patriotic fervor decided to play the U.S. National Anthem with a suppressed rifle on Wednesday. The result is a beautiful tribute to America and her greatness.

Former Top Shot contestant Chris Cheng took to YouTube to share his beautiful rendition of the tune which celebrates America’s triumph over the British at Baltimore harbor. Cheng shoots his way through specially designed steel plates that correspond to different musical notes in a complicated but delightful performance. The integrally suppressed Ruger 10/22 is quiet enough that the music really comes through stronger than the gun-based musical performances that have come before.

€œThere'€™s nothing that says freedom like shooting the Star Spangled Banner with an integrally suppressed rifle,€ the video€™s description said. €œChris Cheng shoots some freedom with the Musical Targets system.€

One tiny point:

The 4 of July is just a date, like December 25th.

We celebrate Independence Day, not the date.

An honorable veteran corrected me yesterday.

I am in an especially good mood. My wife surprised me with tickets to finally catch one of my rock and roll girls of the 80s in concert. Went to see Joan Jett a week ago.

I missed out on the concert scene when I was young. Either too busy or too broke to go. The two I think I went to see in their day was Brian Adams and the Stray Cats. Trying to make up for it in my declining years. This year besides Joan Jett, I saw Ronnie Spector. Last year my sister in law had a spare ticket, so I got to see Ted Nugent. I guess the only ones I really would love to see that I haven't are Chrissy Hynde and Annie Lennox. I am stuck in the 1980s and proud of it.
