You may be correct to be confused; however, reading the Joshua verse may provide assistance.

Well, having read it a few times now, I am left with the conclusion that we should stay right on the path, neither straying/turning left nor right. Am I being a good student?

Well, that was really enlightening. :hunf:  Does this come with a second verse? What key were you in -- and if you say to the left of F or to the right of G, I should let you know NOW, you aren't being very helpful right at the moment. I might think you left me in the dark on purpose. Would I be right?

I was agreeing as to your right in being confused. Politics of the left and right are confusing, oftentimes. You should not feel awkward in feeling so. Read Joshua 1:7 as AuntiE suggests. It may put your mind at ease, somewhat.

Key lime comes from key west, which is right on the tip of florida. If you turn left at tampa and right on highway 1 you will go straight through the keys. Most of the keys are in "f" but key west is in the key of "S" ( for Spanish ).

Staying left of right and right of left will result in a straight pathway. I think that was Joshue's point. ( I misspelled that on purpose, thank you very much! ). There is hope for those errant folk, keep going either right or left and you will wind up back where you went off the path at. Then just amid ship your rudder and you'll be back on course.

Yes, being well acquainted with the keys; however, coming from a different direction from you since you reside in Arkansas and I in VA, it would appear that I "mostly keep going dead center down 95, with a little jog to the left and to the right, when I reach Miami. Those "little" jogs, left and right, can be treacherous. I once ended up somewhere right in the worst part of Miami late at night, complete with a parked car on fire. I rather quickened my step after that, looking for that centered path again!! Oh, I am somewhat acquainted with the key of S. The key of S seems "somewhat" a mix, does it not, a blend of right, left, middle. Hmmm.

Not to mention up and down. Up to Tampa or down to the Keys. If you go too far to the left or right there, you'll wind up in the Atlantic or the gulf. I lived in Pensacola for a number of years. I would make a long curving right turn down to the Keys.

Well, I have missed much this day, having spent time with the Amish who would be rather miffed to be declared left or right, Joshua scripture from yesterday, yep that's them. However, Big Pine Key, Ohhhhhhh, just "about" smack dab in the middle, considering also that there is not "really" a left or a right, unless you prefer being smack dab in the middle of H2O. Not recommended necesarrily, particularly since odds are you might smack a shark right in the middle of the head when you're sea kayaking on the leeward side.

Getting smacked by a shark will result in there not being much left of you. So, using that logic, if there's not much left of you everything else is right of you. Hmmm, that may be a solution to our problem with Congress. Let's throw them all into a pool of sharks, after the feeding frenzy is over, who ever is left must have nothing but right leftover, which would make them do right from now on. Doing right requires not going left - or too far right. That's why it's called "right down the middle".
I think that explains the tea party, their low attention span heard only " go right " out of " go right down the middle ". That would mean liberals are right handed, as they go down the path and, not paying attention, would naturally wander to the left. We need more left handed people in DC, apparently. That's all I have right now.

Well, you would most certainly be right about that shark thing. Anyone left over would be sure to stay on the right path and not stray from the middle. While I think some of "T" Party belonging speak all over the place, so that depending on where you are coming from, you have no idea if they are left, right, or on the path, in the middle, I have read certain premises, which of late have left me pondering. The premises, most of them, seem right and so I am left to wonder how certain have such high visibility, and speak for the party, because you and I -- we know people who rather think it is EXACTLY in the middle, and one rather close to both of us, seems right in the middle to me, walking a path straight and narrow, so I am left to ponder. Right now, I have to go meet with the seafood vendor because he has some right tasty oysters he is delivering to me.
