I am a retired LEO who held sacred my oath of office to enforce the laws of my state "not inconsistant with the Constitutions of my state and the US Constitution". I did this for 43 years. Many of todays elected Federal Officals take the oath to fulfill the duties of their office and to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America with no intent to do either especially the support and defend the Constitution. They are never called to task for their actions. Their constituents should immediately file articles of impeachment against anyone who violates their Oath of Office for it is evident that if they will lie about their Oath they will lie about anything. This would restore citizens trust in their elected officals instead of the common opinion that all politicans lie.

When I joined the Navy I also gave my oath that I would defend my country from ENEMIES BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC, when I was honorably discharged from the Navy I did not rescind that oath, and doubt that you did either. In my opinion I believe that I’ve seen many Politicians who have done things that are not for the good of ‘We the People’ that in my book makes them an enemy of the people. We the People should look closer at those we believe are doing us wrong, and if found to be doing so, we should not just wait for (as you’ve said ) ‘their constituents’ to file articles of impeachment, we should name those persons and present those names to those we trust and demand they file articles of impeachment. Also incompetence is another problem that I see (in my opinion). Example(s) include:
Thinking and writing laws/rules etc. that require (when looking at it from another perspective)
*Limiting gun magazines sizes – is the bad guy going to comply?
*Registering guns – is the bad guy going to comply? (Even if it is registered it will probably not be his.)
*Background checks (not really a bad idea except) will a bad guy comply?
*No assault weapons – will a bad guy comply?
You were a LEO, is death by a gunshot more or less horrible to the victim than say a slit throat, beating to death by a baseball bat, poison?
Sorry I’m off topic.
How about passing requirements that ‘we the people’ must carry medical insurance (isn’t that a freedom of ‘choice’ thing?) in a time in which people are losing jobs, homes, job perks’ (meaning medical insurance) especially when there are laws that say that hospitals etc. cannot turn away a person who needs medical help? Tax payers’ are already picking up the tab for that when the medical facilities’ file their taxes showing loss of revenue. Seems to me the old way is cheaper than what they are trying to do to us now!

RonMM, sounds as if we may be brothers by different mothers. We are from a older group whose word was their bond and when we swore an Oath it was sincere and for life. Thanks for your response. To answer your question I've found that there is only one degree of Dead and if politicans who stand on the bodies of victims to try to increase their control of citizens will check they will find that there are many "weapons" that cause more deaths than firearms. This isn't about Gun Control it's about People Control by "never wasting a disaster" to promote their evil intent to change "We the people" to "We the Government". Stay strong my fellow American!

Since when is relesing people from prison and removing border agents from the border is not a dereition of duty to defend the constituion and America. why no politcal congress call for impeachment!

Guys, whew
What I haven’t figured out is how do we the people get rid of those politicians’ who violate our Constitution its Amendments, Articles etc. when they will not police themselves? I trust in our laws (much of the time) and I believe that we the people are supposed to write our political leaders with our concerns and I know that just because a few people write in to express a concern with some political leader does not mean that every other person believes in that concern and therefore the political leader may not take up the concern – but when there is such a huge outcry by so many and for what is so obvious a violation of our laws – who ya gonna call? And what do you do?
Right now 5 things are at the top of my list – for now! But they are:
• The Second Amendment - specifically the right to bear arms “without infringement”
• Freedom of choice – specifically my rights concerning medical insurance.
• End of life choices – people stuck in pain or immobile knowing the end is not near enough, or that there is no future – their right to end their suffering!
• I*****l i*********n – Good Lord where’s the confusion in that? They should come to this great nation legally or stay in their country and make it great. (had a Mexican wife, have a daughter with her, daughter dated an American born African – I didn’t object – so to those who would call the race card on me here – please don’t).
• Legal systems and Prisons are one of my pet peeves. Prisons should be places where bad guys learn the error of their ways – not a place they are sent to just to be kept out of society for a time. The convicted violated another citizen, they should lose their civil rights for the time they are in prison. They should be made to pay their way, meaning that their cost to society should be paid by them by fulfilling the needs of the prison by the sweat of their labor. I would dearly like to present my version of what the prison life should look like – and no it is not cruel or inhuman.
