It's going no where, but in any case, some people are opposed to the death penalty. No more complicated than that. It isn't even getting caucus support. It's one of those bills introduced at the beginning of every session that is still sitting there when the session ends.

I am not opposed, but it's hard to be a strong supporter when genetic testing made it clear many are wrongly convicted and sentenced to death.

No I don't think anyone that goes behind our country's back is wanting of free room and board or cyanide or a waste of a good bullet if its so bad here let him stay in one of these screwy continent's he's had offers from.after all does he think they will give him a high security clearance? Leave the man alone! He has done We the People a big, Big favor by letting us know what the NSA is doing to ALL of We the People. We should be having a parade weekly for Snowden. He is the one who deserves praise and not rigicule.

What is all this about Snowden??? The forum is "Democrats Supporting a Bill".
So, Democrats what to eliminate the death penalty. I, for one, believe it should be used 100 times more often than it is now.
Besides, this is a States Rights issue according to the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution. The Federal Government has absolutely NO BUSINESS legislating decisions that are the responsibility of each individual State.

cantbelieve-believe chain gangs and hard work should replace the death penalty. Keep them alive and working to pay for their upkeep while they reflect on the harm they have caused. Today's death penalty by lethal injection is a cake walk compared to hard labor for as many years as they can work. Lets get rid of A/C, television, gyms etc. and let them spend their free time reading and learning coupled with some radio news. Lights out at 10PM and rise and shine at 5AM for a work filled day. v**enoobama-because a large number of them might be in jeopardy . It could be viewed as a SYA move on their part. Snowden is a parasite who does not deserve to return to America. Let him live in Russia or elsewhere and when they finish using him he will disappear from the public eye and may never be heard from again. He made his choice to betray the country so let us allow him to enjoy the fruits of his malfeasance. Good Luck America !!!

Rob-why don't you leave and join your idol wherever he is. If you are not doing anything wrong or suspicious you should not have any fear of the NSA or others who may be watching. When one sinks to the level of praising a t*****r, it may be time for he/she to relocate. Men and women who may be covert agents may well die because of Snowden's actions. Brave men and women have died in wars to protect your right to express yourself in the dastardly manner in which you just did. Had the NSA done more eavesdropping maybe the Boston Marathon bombing could have been prevented. You do not have a clue as to what the NSA has already done to protect this country but are quick to climb on the bandwagon of a sniveling little punk like Snowden. Good Luck America !!!
