This came from a very disgruntled American. It is a long read but I believe every open-minded American will appreciate it. Now I already expect repercussion from the left-wing dingbats but that is to expected, is it not?

I am a 54 year old consulting engineer and make between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on how hard I work and whether or not there are work projects out there for me.

My girlfriend is 61 and makes about $18,000 per ear, working as a part time mail clerk.

For me, making $60,000 a year, under Obamacare, the cheapest, lowest grade policy I can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000 deductible, costs $482 per month.

For my girlfriend, the same exact policy with the same deductible, costs $1 per month.

Don't believe me? just go to "www.coveredca.gov" which is the Obamacare website for California and enter parameters I've mentioned and see for yourself. BTW, my zip code is 93940. You'll need that to enter.

So OK, clearly Obamacare is a scheme that involves putting the cost burden of healthcare on the middle and upper income wage earners. But there is a lot more to it. Stick with me.

I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large land mass but just 426,000 residents-about the population size of Colorado Springs or Omaha.

But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of i*****l a***ns, and to serve this group, we have Natividad Medical Center, a massive, federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about 1/3 the size of the Chrysler Corporation Automobile Assembly plant in Belevedere, Illinois. Natividad has state-of-the-art oprating rooms, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped 24 hour emergency rooms, and much more. And medical attention here is essentially full because almost everyone who winds up here is uninsured.

Last year, 2,735 babies were born at Natividad. 32% of these were born to out-of-wedlock teenage mothers, 93% of which were Hispanic. Less that 20% could show proof of citizenship, and 71% listed their native language as Spanish. Of these 876 births, only 40 were covered under any kind of private health insurance. The taxpayers paid for the other 836. And in case you are wondering about the entire 2,735 babies that were born here, less than 24% involved insured coverage or even partial payment on behalf of the patient to the hospital in exchange for services.

Now consider this. If I want to upgrade my policy to a low- deductible premium policy, such as what I had with my last employer, my cost will be $886 per month. But my girlfriend can upgrade her policy for just $4 per month. A total of $48 per year for a zero-deductible, premium health care policy- the kind you get when you work for IBM (except when you work for IBM your healthcare for this type policy runs from $170 per month or more, not $4 per month.

This is my aside... Is there any wonder that so many have dropped out of the job market? We that kept working are the fools because if we had jumped on the bandwagon when Lyndon Johnson started making it so lucrative to become bums we would not have to worry about anything at all now. Just think! Our food would be paid for, our housing paid for, our utilities paid for, our medical would cost us less that a carton of cigarettes a month, we would have a free telephone with ample minutes paid for each month, Our children would get a free clothing allowance each year, we would get a check each month and we would never have to worry about getting laid off from work because we would never have to worry about the degradation of working at a mean old job.

$482 per month for healthcare is dirt cheap for a 54 year old. Why is this engineer complaining?

I am a 77yr old paid into SS for 60yrs & still paying.

I pay taxes on 85 % of my SS.

I pay $364 per month for SS part B & added coverage.

I pay for about the best coverage & I have not used a cent of it to date. I pay because if I should need it I will be glad I have it.

That is for a $5000.00 deductible. Not a bargain!

This (if true) is a prime example of "wealth re-distribution" at it's finest! obummer's goal seems successful.

It's a bargain to me. I'm 55, pay 620 a month and have a five thousand deductible. Now with ACA my monthly dropped to 462 with a 2500 deductible...and my checkups drop from full freight at 150 a visit to a 20 buck co pay. I'm savings thousands.

With a $5,000 deductible and you call it dirt cheap? And that is for a single person with no dependents, yet you call it dirt cheap? You are probably one of the $1 per month bums that keep their income low in order to qualify for this giveaway , if you even work at all.

I sympathies with you. Add the $5000. deductible to your monthly payments and you are paying 18% of your yearly pay before you get to use one penny of healthcare. Obamacare is the biggest fiasco that I have ever seen in my lifetime of 79 years. I keep pushing for repeal along with the 6.1 million who lost their insurance.

Sorry to break it to you Carolyn, but I'm rich and retired at 49. My income guarantees I'll get no subsidies for healthcare, little if any social security and much higher medicare payments than the average American. And I'm okay with that. It's a tiny price to pay for success.

I also find your comment exceptionally sad. It's an angry, bitter, whiny rant based on false assumptions. Do yourself a favor and debate the issues and drop the snarky accusations. It's tacky and low class.
