Credit Card Medical Info.

Has any one thought of having a CC type card for medical (patient) Information?
The Dr. do not look at your pass medical history until he comes into the room with you. So why couldn't we have a medical card that has all our information. Then the Dr./Nurse would use your card to down load all your medical information but only after you have entered your password or ID. This way nothing would be left on their computers to get hacked. Sounds to simple to work.

Yeah, not so much. The second the data is downloaded into any computer it's going to get stored. After that who knows who gets to see it, or use it. The second you are born, a file is opened about you, it ends the day you die. The only cure is a EMP, and even that's a maybe.

Who puts your Medical Info on your device to begin with? And what if you're in an accient & unconscious... How would they be able to access your Medical Info if it's password protected?

For me, the data is on line at the hospital/clinic and may be access by the nurse/doctor as needed.. Usually, I see the nurse, she does her thing, updates the info and when Doc comes in he gets a look and does his thing.. I have a patient screen so information and messages and anything scheduled I can look at my home computer and double ck and stay up to date on meds, appointments and new information that may pertain to my condition.. Works very well, I have no complaint at all on the system..

I have the impression this is about the Dr/Nurses not having access to your Medical Records without your approval & having your Records password protected by you so no one else can have access to them without your knowledge... Your "reply" seems to show what's taking place now... Seems like 2 different scenarios...

Not sure I follow you. I do have a password on my home computer for this information. If someone was nosy, it could take as long as 15 seconds to get past it..I have never considered my Medical Records as anything that needed privacy. Maybe they have more info, but it would only be insurance coverage, living will. The Dr and nurses, anyone working on my care is able to open the hospital file. Do not see a reason that more information would be included..
