Do you know what events led to civil war in 1861

Dick Morris explains the situation that grew with the s***ery question and why the Civil War had to happen. Don't miss the part about who wrote the Kansas - Nebraska and why he did so. I have always thought at least some of those 600,000 deaths should have been charged to the man.

I guess Morris must have studied the period leading up to the Civil War from the same books I got to use since he tells the story just as I do.

I would like to know how we can respect Dick Morris when he worked for Clinton and was so much on the Socialist Democrat side as to help Clinton get reelected?

Maybe just admitting that what he says here is flat out t***h and not trying to attack him instead of talking about his message. I don't know old Saul Alinsky would say about your method of dealing with Morris but am pretty sure he would say you did an excellent job of attacking the messenger and leaving the message completely alone.

I've often wondered that, myself. Answer: We can't.

He is just another political whore. He speaks/caters to the audience in front of him.

Lincoln, in his pre-e******n debates with Douglas, maintained that he was not in favor of abolishing s***ery; in a letter to Horace ("Go west, young man") Greeley, then editor of the NY Times, he said that his purpose was the integrity of the Union, whether that meant ending s***ery, or continuing it. The Emancipation Proclamation only ended s***ery in the States in R*******n, not WV or Maryland. It is worth noting that the wife of Ulysses S Grant, Commander-in-Chief of the Union Army, was a s***e owner. She maintained ownership of her s***es until they were freed in 1865, not in the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation. I don't know if this was discussed in the video or not, as I have not had time to watch it.

What I am saying is nothing like Saul Alinsky. Alinsky would go after people on the opposing side. I am going after someone from the other side trying to infiltrate our side and lead us astray. I am going after him based on the t***h of his helping the enemy, not just h**eful false accusations.

Lincoln, in his pre-e******n debates with Douglas,... (show quote)

If all that is true, Lincoln deserves less honor than he has been given for his contribution to the American experiment. It sounds like Lincoln favored a big and controlling Federal Government, and that he had no core principles of right and wrong, but would support wh**ever politics would get him elected.

I can't respect that. That is the kind of Politician and President that I am trying to encourage America to throw out of office.

Am I to take it for granted that you think what Morris said in that video was just a bunch of Pelosi that he dreamed up trying to work for the Democrats? I refuse to believe that you know a whole lot about the events of 1854 - 1861 that actually led up to the Civil War. I'll just bet that I have studied the period quite a lot more than you have and I can tell you that unless you use a relatively "new" source written by a secular progressive you will find that what Morris and I say is the t***h.

Let me ask you what you know about Dred Scot, Bleeding Kansas, the Lincoln-Douglas debates, the Kansas-Nebraska act, and the border wars between the Border Ruffians and those wielding Beechers rifles. Throw in the Missouri Compromise of 1820 and the Compromise of 1850 as more of what caused that Civil War.

I see that no man is allowed to change his political beliefs since you are so sure that Morris couldn't. In other words, I have not really changed from the Democrat side because of their nominating socialists for President since 1972 when I did change sides. Jay, I think you have some real problems about this subject.

I see that you really don't know a lot about that period of our history. Lincoln said at the beginning that he was fighting to maintain the union, not to free s***es. He made the Emancipation Proclamation after the battle of Antietam when it became obvious that the North could win the war. He didn't free one s***e with that speech since he could only free those in states still in r*******n and until he occupied those states s***ery was still in effect. I guess he did all of that so he could get re-elected, though, since you see something nobody else does. The man was the first President to wear the badge of Republican since the Party began in 1856. You might find, if you did some reading from pre-progressive writings that Lincoln was trying to maintain the union instead of allowing its breakup. I have never thought of his actions as those of a big government man like Obama, but then maybe you are right. NOT

You i***ts that are attacking Lincoln and Dick (twofaced) Morris (lol) really are sniffing the fumes of Rupert Murdock's rearend. All you listen to is fox news(aren't you embarrassed/offended by this accusation) . Don't you realize with "Government" smaller or out of the way,we all (regular people) will be back to the conditions of the (Guilded era) exploited by the corporation owners ,treated like crap, working excuse me,slaving for 7 days a week! Oh and let's not forget, while your wife is at work ,if her boss wants a blow job or wants to screw her, and she turns him down ,she's fired and you ,your kids our out on the streets!! It's called checks and balances, regulation can be good ,when not exploited. Again,Fox is so up your behinds, you don't even know what's in your own best interest! I***ts#!!

With respect to Jay Are, OldRoy, I've got to follow your historical logic on this one, without a doubt!

You did teach history, didn't you, OldRoy? It has always been my favorite subject. I remember well, my 8th grade history teacher, Mr. Baker. He was consumed with the Civil
War (War Between the States), and the years before, and after...Reconstruction.

I contend we still are feeling the effects of that war. :|

I took the better part of the first 2 weeks in December every year getting that war out of the way. I often read for whole periods from Civil War magazines etc and the kids seemed to approve since they didn't have to do anything but sit there. I have a wealth of books and magazines lying around that I have never thrown away. Probably many of them, being so old, wouldn't be true these days since they are wiping study of the Civil War out in schools at the request of progressives these days.

Go ahead and explain to me how Lincoln was looking to expand the federal government. When he was elected the union of states was made up of all involved and then some of them tried to secede. He wanted to stop that secession and had never really been against s***ery although he didn't live in the South so had never owned any s***es.

You of the liberal labor lean seem to really eat up the crap that the leaders put out. Quite a scene you held out for us. Of course, I don't want The One to remain in office any longer than we have to have him legally and there is a chance that he can destroy what we have, if he can only find a way to ens***e us all like you suggested.
