What the US once was.

When the 2nd World War began, the US got into it, nobody in the world had any idea that the US could do what it did in that short span of time. Just think of some of the things we accomplished between December 1941 and September 1945. Here is a list of those things that seemed so impossible. I wish I thought we could do this now but I just can't believe we could pull together like back then.

For those of us old enough to remember the US was caught with our pants
down at Pearl Harbor. But America had something called p***e at that time
and everybody pulled together and their cohesiveness and determination led
to what you are about to read.

During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese
bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of
Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48
cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34
million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000
t***sport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000
artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000
military trucks.

We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services,
invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic,
planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the
atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the
Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site.

Ah yes, what can be accomplished with bi-partisanship (RINOS and DINOS). You make such an excellent argument.

Just think how WWII would have been so much more difficult to win if Republicans had stood their ground about keeping the US out of "Europe's War" known formally as the America First Committee.

Just think how much longer it would have taken to defeat Germany if Republicans would have insisted on a balanced budget because economic catastrophe would soon occur due to the unsustainable debt spending rising first above 80% and later 113% of GDP.

Considering how much was accomplished with the sides united, I wonder how much better that obamacare site would have been if both sides had worked together as they did together in support of WWII?

I was waiting for the finale! Good comparison!
And, America fought hard and suffered loss of men, women and equipment. But we kept fighting for and end to the aggressors. Now, we are looking at an enemy from within...Our own government led by a self absorbed i***t.

Nice try.....But, does not apply to this flawed law. This is the enemy within. And, at the time of WWII, the nation was opposed to war. It was the time of pacifism and it did not touch us at the beginning. So, this law hurts most Americans, the economy and is constitutionally unsound in the way it is being implemented, adjusted, and ignored by the president himself.

Yes, Obama said this, well, not the F*** up part, but, on the campaign trail for the 2008 e******n, he did say, " I've been to all 57 states......"

But, the media gave him a pass due to the rigors of the campaign trail. You know, i think politicians running for office should have to do games shows like Jeopardy, or maybe Are you smarter than a fifth grader...Might be revealing...

I agree. I still suspect that there were repub. plants on the team building the website. Obama dropped the ball by not checking it first, but I don't see how that website could have been so screwed it up if it were not sabotaged. I'm not happy with ACA but it's a place to start.
What we have come to expect from the congress is name calling, posturing, blaming, obstructing, and undermining everything. The world hears what our ambassadors and Sec. of state says and then hears congress people second guess, accuse and otherwise undo everything. We look like i***ts.

Every condominium board in the nation has a list of projects with cost and time estimates, contractor’s bids, zoning approvals, etc., etc. But tax cutters have reduced the federal (and many state) governments to a level that, outside of the DOD, we have no registry of all the nation’s infrastructure with state of condition, maintenance schedule, plans, available contractors, pending contracts, environmental impact, regulatory and zoning approvals, etc., etc. Small government zealots have starved the beast into imbecility!

It’s a wonder that the stimulus accomplished what it did:

Read it and learn something:: http://www.pitbulleconomics.com/stimulus.pdf

The government does not have a software capability. It is forced to hire private enterprise to create a system. And it must hire the lowest bidder, who has to cut corners to make a buck.

We have to go back to civil service government employees who take p***e in their work.

Conservatives are not patriotic. They are just cheap and stingy.

You get what you pay for.

The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country. – A. Lincoln

And just who was hired to build the website? yeah, a friend of the first lady. And, lowest bidder? This was a no bid contract.
So, get your head somewhere where it isn't now and see you, me, and the rest of country have been had by the liberal socialists. Look at congress and see who are the richest members.....Democrats top the list. Your premise of conservatives not being patriotic flies in the face of constitutional relevance. Or, maybe you think supporting the constitution is not patriotic??

Any for-profit company cuts corners to make a buck. When you want quality, you need competence, not profit.

Why does the government not have its own programming staff?
Would we subcontract soldiers? Oops! Yes Republicans would hire Blackwater. When the going gets rough, the contractors get going.

Chicago privatized its curbs. Now a private company is making a fortune on parking fees while the city is strapped for cash.

Sell the silverware, and then rent forks and spoons. That's conservative economics.

WWII was finally paid for during the Clinton Administration, the government and we the people paid for returning the world to being a safe place to live. Not just American liberty, but the notion that we are all created equal.
