This is a sign that we have failed to think this matter all the way through. What is the difference between a hero and a terrorist? One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. How do we go about separating the sheep from the goats?

A hero would be the person who stops the terrorist from blowing up the airplane you may be on.
Oh, you mean someone like a TSA agent or a guy on the airplane who thwarts and attempt to blow it up?
Exactly, and the one being thwarted would be the terrorist.
So which guy? The TSA agent or the fellow passenger?

Please get real or get over it.

I will avoid the discussion which has morphed to a fight over what a hero is compared to a terrorist and go to what I thought when I watched that video.
First off, the video is from RT which is Russia Times and serves as their main propaganda disseminator in the US.
Next, I would draw attention to the filthy clothes those men are wearing as they walk around the compound. Even the soccer ball they were kicking around was just as white as the rest of their clothes.
I loved the part where the reporter told the women that over 100 of those terrorists have been cleared for release. What government agency did she get her information from?
Maybe I Won declared he would have the place closed down by 2010 but he learned that he couldn't carry that promise off so easily as he thought and has failed because he still can't get it done.
Since the US media has cast a blind eye at that hunger strike I have to wonder why RT is trying to do their job for them. Also, I am sure there are many more problems the media sees as more important than the conditions on Gitmo. I remember way back when all those Congressmen were making noises about the horrible conditions in Gitmo till a number of them went down there and found things weren't nearly so bad as the media was reporting. Maybe some of the backlash of that one is part of what has happened, too.

I am being real. One guy is just doing his job and is in a low risk situation with plenty of support around to help out. The other is in a very high risk situation with practically no trained help to speak of. Which is the real hero?
Alas, we have strayed away from the point I was trying to make. One man's hero is another man's villain. It all depends on who you ask and what their outlook and moral standards are. This is not a straight up black or white issue.

Not having seen the conditions first hand, I cannot say with any accuracy. RT is indeed a propaganda channel for Russia, as is our Radio America. Both broadcast just enough of the t***h to be persuasive. At least RT is better than the old [Pravda.

One would think that RT would try to put out something with those men wearing filthy clothing and kicking a very dirty ball for recreation.
That story sounded so much like what the Democrat Congress people were throwing around back in the early days of Gitmo. Finally some of them went down there and found that conditions weren't anything like they had been told by there progressive buddies. I don't think those people are living so bad other than what they are doing to themselves by going without food. Ghandi carried his starvations out but few others have tried that and done it nearly so good as he did.
