Too late, it is already happening, I was there. It is a useless approach at teaching. we cant stop it now, it has ruined many generations of children where I live.

I wasn't addressing you, and unless you can explain what the Squirrel meant... Don't pick this up.

If you can explain the meaning, then that would be a better expenditure of your time, than mindless yapping.

"One is to many." Though it has a period, the phrase is not a complete thought.

Are you not able to stay on track for a small amount of time. Or would you rather be an english critic?

Did you not go to school?

Do you think clear expression of thought is inconsequential?

Do you understand that schools are inherently centers of indoctrination?

Proper spelling is indoctrinated; as is proper grammar; simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division... All this and more is indoctrinated in the school setting.

You must be liberal in your use of "Indoctrinated" you betray yourself. The term used to be taught.

"Archaic" is probably, more viable than "liberal." I do suggest you verify the definition. The problem arises with the negative connotation of the word, rather than its definition.

Not knowing, I cannot say, therefore I will not express my thoughts beyond doubts.

Funny that this comes up again. oldroy and I had a conversation a few weeks ago about the very same and I promised him I would ask some teacher friends of mine (two have responded thus far) what their views were. Two totally OPPOSITE responses they were. One said that while it sounded like a great thing initially, it had become the bane of her existence, that all she seemed to do was paperwork and not teach. In addition, she stated that she was concerned that some children were truly unable to keep up. On the other hand, the other laughed when I asked her that question. "Common Core," she laughingly said, "We don't pay attention to Common Core. We only pay attention to what has to be learned for SOL testing, and the state determines that." I'm still waiting on other responses from other teachers I know. oldroy sent me a link to Common Core standards and I guess I'm going to have to take a hard look at it. I was truly surprised by the contrast in answers from the two teachers.
