The Megyn Kelly "scandal"

Let me make it clear where I stand from the start: The Easter Bunny is a rabbit and not a rooster, the Michelin Tire Guy is white (why?), and so are Jesus and Santa. Sue me. Arrest me for a h**e crime. This is not open to debate; simple facts.
But here are a few links that challenge me, and maybe you:
http://www.levantinecenter.org/cultures/central-asia/afghan/whitewashed-are-middle-easterners-really-white
http://ask.metafilter.com/112457/Why-are-middle-eastern-people-categorized-as-white
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_people

Stressing that only being white is what makes Santa Santa and Jesus Jesus is r****t; a change in color proving a difficulty in feasibility or exactness of representation of their values is r****t. Is that why Megyn Kelly objected to the blog by Harris?

Personally, I don't believe it is. Her comments, I feel, went more to the ridiculous lengths of being politically correct. Santa being white was not started by the Aryan Brotherhood but arose from a society of whom, if not all, the vast majority were white. No big deal.

An interesting note now that I mentioned the word "Aryan" is that Iran gets its name from that root, believing they were the first "white" people. (Also, India's ancient sacred texts were said to have been given to them by a foreign race of white people; Iranians or relatives of Santa Claus is unknown.)

By commonly accepted standards, Middle Easterners are considered to be white, ergo, Jesus is white. Just a fact, and a fact that should have no overtones of racial favoritism or prejudice. Except that Kelly does an unnecessary little dance about her original statement, no doubt an unfortunate reaction to the PC fanatics out there: she claims she made those comments purely in jest, tongue-in-cheek. Why? She is lying, delusional, or forced to coverup and retaliate by Fox News. This becomes plainer in the next paragraph.

Here is a link to her original comments below. Be honest conservatives and tell me if she was or was not joking.

This is how nothing of real note, a definition of a "tempest in a tea pot," is turned into a d******e national scandal by the extremes on both sides.

Screw everybody else, as Americans we have the right to think and say what we want to. If I want to believe that God and Santa is white, who CARES what the other person thinks. It not any of their business. Everybody has the right to their own opinion .

That is what I basically said. What Kelly unfortunately decided to do was apparently lie to unnecessarily cover up her original statements, making her and Fox News look bad. If they do this about nothing, what of truly important issues?

M. Kelly made statements without any investigation or thought.

As both, Santa and Jesus, represent Christmas, neither should be subject to any color if we really put the real t***h into the holiday (holy day). This time of year should be for the love in our hearts only. And, love has no color.

The modern figure of Santa Claus is derived from the Dutch figure of Sinterklaas, which, in turn, has part of its basis in hagiographical tales concerning the historical figure of Christian bishop and gift-giver Saint Nicholas. SO what was he a Pigmy from central Africa? He was a mythical figure with legendary, historical and folkloric so make him blue like a Smurf if you like.

As for Jesus, "whiter than milk" as referring to skin color.[22] 1 Samuel 16:12 describes David, the ancestor of Jesus, as having "beautiful eyes" or "fair countenance."

My points exactly; but it was Megyn's pathetic defense of her comments this thread took issue with: why?

Only the liberal news is trying to turn this into a scandal, Kelly has a right to her opinion just like every one else This is some thing that shouldn't even be argued about. But the liberal news are doing what they do best, cause trouble. Ignore them and every thing will be fine.

Harris proposed that Santa should get a makeover, and be reborn as a more culturally neutral and universally appealing figure: a penguin. Harris started with the typical left wing talk of what if. Why? Santa being from a Nordic country wouldn't he be white?

As for Jesus, being Jewish, likely olive skin and from the what bible says likely blue or hazel eyes.

The left hints that this may be a white man thing, both were way before this black/white thing so I doubt it very much.

Who really cares about the skin tone of Santa, the Lone Ranger, or Little Red Riding Hood. They are all fictitious characters. Does it really make sense to argue the race of the easter bunny or tooth fairy? While we're at it, who cares what Megyn Kelly thinks about anything? She was hired for the main reasons that most news anchors are hired. They are physically attractive, have nice hair, and can read a teleprompter. They really are not paid to think or give their opinions. You think the Democrats take their talking points from Brian Williams of NBC?? Would make as much sense as taking your political cues from the anchor Ted Baxter, on the old Mary Tyler Moore show!!!!

Rumi, I heard bout this and I must say, I am now dumber. You shouldn't even acknowledge dumb culture snapshots like this as they are below you and many others on here. The debate is totally in the wrong place here and has gotten in the gutter, as santa is any color, usually the same color as the head of the house hold. Not really sure how it took the direction it did.

All it amounts to is some one asked the question that thr was no right answer to, either answer would have gotten anyone in trouble And that was the reason it was asked. The right answer to a question like that is, NO COMMENT. But you have to ask a question like that when the person is off guard, No one really expects a question like that,They give an off the cuff answer and the trouble maker does the rest by blowing it out of proportion. The best thing Kelly can do now is ignore them, but dont ever apologize. Thr not after just the apology, Thr after her job.

Why would anyone liberal waste the time to try to remove Megan Kelly. Fox would just find another pretty face who is willing to read their teleprompter for big $$$. There is no shortage of people willing to do such a thing. It would be pointless.
