Well, if that which governs least governs best, then, by extension, that which governs not at all governs best of all. Can anyone tell me one thing that government (any government) does, that private individuals operating in a free market cannot improve upon? Just one single solitary thing is all I ask.

If you don't believe humans need government , you are one very dumb person. If you believe less government is better, so no government would be perfect, you are having a thinking problem. If one dose of a laxative gets you regular, an overdose can get you dissolved.

There's no future profit in road building. It is done by tax money. The Fair Tax would easily get this done.

Our military could be financed if we had a giant cake sale.

Dave, I think you are really blinded by your doctrines and do not see reality. For instance, you state: "a smart boss wants his workers to get more money, because a happy workforce will do a better job, thus making him more money." Tell that to Walmart, many whose employees make so litle they have to get food stamps, which you and I and the rest of the USA population has to pay for. You bet I am for unions under certain circunstances, though I know a bit about union abuse, having been the object of it once or twice. Many unions are corrupt.

Do you know anyone who has been hired by a poor person I don't. They left doesn'the like rich folks because most believe they Stole the money. I think they don't remember life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. What they don't know is that rich people pay 70% of all taxes in the country.

Yes, I know poor people who started their own businesses and eventually hired employees. The "pursuit of happiness" you speak of on the part of the rich amounts figuratively to screwing other people.
