A Song of Degrees

I am starting a Sunday tradition. It is my hope it will provide some value to many of you. This seemed an excellent way to start.

The Psalms
121

The LORD Is Thy Keeper
A Song of degrees.

1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Be blessed.

Very good AuntiE. Thank you. Did you know there are 31 Proverbs? One for each day of the month. Today: Know that wisdom is thus for your soul; If you find it, then there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 24:14 :D

This is indeed true...if we have the right heart. Nothing that afflicts us on this earthly plain can hurt, damage, or defeat us...if we have the right heart. This psalm, to me, is based on a covenant: that I love God with ALL my mind, soul, heart, and strength; anything less and I will feel God has in some small or large measure abandoned me. The work is not God's to keep me safe from all dangers and harm but my soul's love as a "little child" of my father.

In the back of my little pea brain, I probably knew there were thirty-one Proverbs.

Thank you for adding today's Proverb to the forum.

My last comment. But I did enjoy getting into the Book.

You need to go back to your forum on moving. I just posted. You need to do a thoughtful reading of what I am saying to you.

You still owe me $100.
