Were it not for the link in this "article" presenting Boehner's complete statement, there would be no accurate quote from Boehner anywhere. Boehner didn't admit to any lies. All he did was agree with the president that here was no immediate problem regarding our financial crisis. He disagreed with the President in that we need to start making our entitlement programs sustainable now, and not wait for our problem to become immediate. So, if you can present any actual fact of a lie, and not just liberal hearsay, then please do so. Otherwise, stop wasting our time.

You're playing games. Just because he didn't come out and say "I was lying" doesn't mean that...well, he wasn't lying in the past. He has been crowing about a debt crisis for years, at the behest of the tea party wing. What do you think that the debt ceiling crisis, the fiscal cliff, and the sequestration were all about! ?? Obama caught hell recently for saying the debt crisis was not immediate, then Boehner, the worm that he is echoes the same thing. He was lying and provoking crisis on the basis of that lie.

Ok, so let me get this straight. He didn't actually say that he was lying is proof that he was lying? Seriously?! What is the matter with you people? There has to be a name for your psychological disorder.
Debt ceiling, fiscal cliff, sequestration...these are all just political terms saying THE EXACT SAME THING. We are excessively in debt as a nation. The debt ceiling is imposed by our politicians saying that BY LAW we cannot spend past a certain amount. Ironically, by law, they keep increasing that debt ceiling. It's political brinksmanship. No one is going to allow the government to stop functioning, so they keep upping the ante in this high-stakes game, only we are not holding a winning hand. Eventually the world is going to call our bluff and stop buying the dollar (our last card in the game by the way) and our entire system is going to go into default. As for the "fiscal cliff" and "sequester" the two terms are synonymous. They both describe laws that were passed that automatically forced the government to cut spending. We avoided the fiscal cliff with a last minute reprieve...that only delayed the inevitable, which we called the sequester this time around. Only this time no agreement was reached. So the government had to take the automatic cuts. So the real question is then, who is truly playing games? The crisis is not immediate in that it can be reversed. However, Boehner is right in saying that we must take action NOW if we want to avoid the crisis. Personally, I don't think we will. No one in Washington has the political strength of will to do what is necessary...cut all unfunded entitlements. We can start by reforming the entitlements with the attempt of establishing them as fully funded. That is not achievable without sweeping changes including consolidation of many comparable programs. Of course, doing anything to touch entitlements would be political suicide, which is why it won't happen. So our country will continue to circle around the financial drain.

I take it that quoting me without comment represents surrender?

Yes. I then wrote a response to that message. Then you quoted me, but added nothing else. Just scroll up and look at the flow of the conversation.
