GOP Delegates Devise Plan To Take Nomination From Trump
"... a rebuke of the millions of people ..."

In what could be perceived as a last-ditch effort to deny Donald Trump the Republican p**********l nomination at the Republican National Convention in July, the Washington Post reports a group of approximately 30 delegates are considering drastic measures.

The group is attempting to change the rules of the Republican Party to allow those delegates bound to, but not supportive of, Trump to pull away from him.

Under the current rules, the majority of the delegates are pledged to v**e for the Trump. In order for the group to succeed in its efforts, the delegates pledged to the presumptive Republican nominee would need to be released from their commitment, which violates party rules.

Two options are being explored. One is a v**e to change the rules to allow for the release of the delegates, while the other calls for a “conscience clause” to be added into the rules. This clause would free any delegate to withdraw support from a candidate because of their conscience.

Although both scenarios have been discussed, the delegates have not congregated to either option.

The hope of the group is that by freeing the delegates to v**e for a candidate they believed in, a large number would withdraw from Trump.

Kendal Unruh, a Republican delegate from Colorado, told the Post, “This literally is an ‘Anybody but Trump’ movement.”

Unruh said the group was not concerned with who would replace Trump as the nominee. “We’re just doing that job to make sure that he’s not the face of our party,” he said.

Trump issued a statement to the Post, reminding them he garnered more v**es during the 2016 primary than any other Republican candidate in history.

“I have tremendous support and get the biggest crowds by far and any such move would not only be totally illegal but also a rebuke of the millions of people who feel so strongly about what I am saying,” Trump said.

Trump accused the candidates that he defeated for doing anything to get a second chance, “but there is no mechanism for it to happen.”

Sici-to take the nomination away from Trump in such a manner will spell disaster. A better approach would be to talk to Trump and attempt to convince him that staying in the race as the nominee means a Hillary presidency. The man is not stupid and he may just agree to bow out if someone can show him a candidate who definitely can beat Hillary. Trump's negatives were high from the start and they have increased since then, so he is courting disaster unless the numbers change rapidly. Of the group initially running, according to the polls at that time, both Kasich and Rubio have a better chance of beating Hillary than does Trump. It looks like Trump still does not realize that the general is a totally new ball game and he is starting all over again. His wins in the primaries mean zippo and it looks like he is placing way too much emphasis on those wins. I realize that this is new territory for him but his campaign should recognize that the primaries are history. Good Luck America !!!

I suspect we really don't have much to worry about! Many of them are undoubtedly one's who were v**ed in 2014 & haven't been very effective up to now & others are Rhino's & we all know who they are & equally ineffective. What they gonna do hand Hillary her Crown & walk away??? Trump legally defeated 17 other GOP candidates fair & square by WE THE PEOPLE...is the GOP going to sweep 'em aside & down the gutter...I think the best way the GOP should act is to get behind Trump (like him or not) & see that he get's elected fairly & according to the desire of the PEOPLE...He has demonstrated that he loves this country & wants to make it GREAT AGAIN...He Can Win if ALL the GOP gets behind him & stop all the childish maneuvers they continue to do...OUR Soul effort should BE to BEAT Hillary & get this country on the RIGHT TRACK AGAIN. Not to CHILDISHLY say "I'm not going to v**e for him"! (Trump) "I'll show him" blah blah blah...Almost sounds like a duck farting under water!

I read an article saying that the Democrats either have or are spending 41 million in attack adds against trump. There has to be something going on for these professional politicians, even the Republicans, trying to destroy a legal candidate who has won fairly over 16-17 other candidates.

Honesty, trust, and reliance in the political process in America is becoming a nightmare. If the e******n process can be changed because of fear of losing a prized position or a unliked personality is allowed to happen then all other freedoms are at risk. Changing the rules at this late date is dangerous.

We are seeing just how fragile freedom really is. The people have spoken and made a choice, live with it. One thing for sure, it can't get worse than it is, and Lord help us if Hillary gets elected.

Trump may have made some shady business deals but he has not been investigated for crimes against our country. Nor are there any rumors about undercover funding by foreign even enemies who are seeking to change the world not for the good.

Hopefully the days of apathy and non-involvement are coming to an end.
