With all the new technology regarding fertility recently, a 65-year-old friend of mine was able to give birth. When she was discharged from the hospital and went home, I went to visit.

'May I see the new baby?' I asked.

'Not yet,' she said. 'I'll make coffee and we can talk for a while first.'

Thirty minutes had passed, and I asked, 'May I see the new baby now?'

'No, not yet,' she said.

After another few minutes had elapsed, I asked again, 'May I see the baby now?'

'No, not yet,' replied my friend.

Growing very impatient, I asked, 'Well, when can I see the baby?'

'WHEN HE CRIES!' she told me.

'When he Cries??' I demanded. 'Why do I have to wait until he CRIES?'

'BECAUSE I FORGOT WHERE I PUT HIM, OK?!'

Yes, the Lady Marine was visiting her friend, the 65-year-old Wave.

Marines never misplace things. They do however occasionally miss things when Swabbies have previously been present.

hardly
since it's the Jarheads that generously supply us Squids with spending money
that is why we really like the Marines
and of course as everyone knows
they do stand guard adequately

Not adequately, superbly. Marines are never 'adequate' they are always outstanding in every respect. When a Marine is on guard a Squid never has to worry about anything. With one exception, the loss of almost all their money from playing poker wth the Marines. I say almost because we try to leave them with enough for one short shore liberty.

that's what a Marine would say
but everyone knows the t***h Salty
I said adequately just to be generous
the only thing Jarheads do outstandingly
is lose their cash to Squids

Yes, the Squids do lose their cash, and IOU's, to the Marines for which the Marines are grateful and, being the compassionate people they are, they always give the Squids an opportunity to redeem themselves on the next payday. However, that is always a repeat of the previous payday gifts to the Marines.
