The link below goes to an article written by an admitted Progressive Christian. Some of you, I am sure, believe that is an oxymoron or maybe a sin. Nonetheless, no matter what side you are on, I feel that this article, though by no means great, sheds some light on what we experience at 1PP.
Remember, "There is one principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignornace--that principle is CONTEMPT PRIOR TO INVESTIGATION." (Attributed to Herbert Spencer)

Perhaps if the Christan Right will go back & review how the actions of Christan's have not been so pure.
Take a look at the Crusades.
They have looked down at others. Now the others show little love for them.

If Christians would live their own lives the way they tell others to - they might make a difference
Well, I don't know what a "Progressive" Christian is, your either a Christian or Not. This is one confused dude, just as confused as the rest. Republicans do not have the ability to push their bills through Reid.(this is the V**ers fault) That's just the way it is. When it comes to the Budget, Republicans start out with their tits in a wringer and end with their tits in a wringer. They are not the majority, and That is The Fact. They can push their agdenda's and bills all the way to a total and complete Govt shutdown of the whole country, because Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will not negotiate nor compromise on ANYTHING but by God what THEY want, and they know they can wait the Republicans out. If you, or any other Americans want Boehner to literally Shut This entire country down, write him, email him, call him, and if there is enough of you out there- I'm sure he will do it. But you have to really want that and what it will do to "ALL," plus be ready and willing to endure it.
Obama care is not a feeble complaint or problem as this dude puts it. It is almost half of our gross negative National Deficit, and Democratic Senate show no interest or concern in this Problem, the 17trillion National Deficit.
If the Evangelicals truly feel left out, or lost, then I'm sorry for them. They need to start speaking their "Voices" coupled with the one they profess to believe in, taking in his power rather than sulking over the loss of their own. In times like this, they need to be in a lot of Prayer to the one they profess to believe in, rather than complaining all over the internet.

I thoroughly agree, rhomin: no labels--conservative/liberal, right/left. emergent/mainstream, catholic/protestant, eastern/western. mystical/orthodox, baptist/methodist, and so on and on can be attached. T***h is t***h.
I will be, along with many, watching this thread very carefully. I hope it stays on topic...but not likely.
I'm not sure, yet, as to how I can/will respond.
But, the "t***h" isn't owned by either side..."left" or "right"!
I start from that perspective.
