Finals for yesterday

Psychology was broken up into 4 areas (tests):

Critical thinking- 100%

The Psychology of Human Relations (diversity in the workforce, conflict resolution, employee management sk**ls, understanding human behavior,)- 100%

Communication ( effective written and verbal communication sk**ls,)-100%

Supervision and Leadership Sk**ls- 100%

So there Auntie, 100% on 4 tests for a total grade of 100% in psychology as expected. It sucked though, I was at the testing center from 7 am to 5 pm.

All I have left are my final on labor laws (knowledge of/adherence to) employee/employer rights (my state and federal) and my essay on EEOC Title Vii 1964.

Then I get to spend my time working on my thesis and business plan YAY!

I am kind of questioning my decision to embark on another 4 years of school to earn my MBA. I have been working and going to school for 6 years now. I have not enrolled since I am going to take a year off and evaluate my reasons for doing so.

I am already self employed now so maybe I will just build on that, do I really need an MBA? What will I do once I have that, a PHD? I have an obsession for learning but maybe enough is enough. I turn 48 next month as well, still a fairly young man but I am starting to think I should focus more on building my business (which is why I spent the last six years in school to begin with) and my family. School has interfered with that a lot.

Opinions?

Aunti is doing fist pumps and is so PROUD of you.

Labor law, as you know, can be a very royal pain in the body part your are sitting on.

We have had PMs concerning the business plan. I truly think you are in better shape on that then you think, because you have a business.

As to the MBA, you will have to decide. My initial thought is you do not need it. If you were not self-employed, I might have a different opinion depending on who your employer was. Taking a year to evaluate seems an excellent decision. It will give you more time to build your business, see where it goes, and give you time to spend on your family.

Having an obsession for learning is not bad; however, did I miss a memo saying to learn you had to be registered and paying tuition to an institution of learning? Without naming the individual, I can assure you we have one on here who is constantly reading, researching and learning. If you enjoy the class interaction, you could take a class at a time without carrying a full load. You could determine which individual class would either benefit the growth of your business, be the basic start of an MBA or just plain simply was of interest to you. If you can live without the class interaction, you could take an online course. Your options are many.

Those are my immediate thoughts to your situation.

Again, big congratulations to you for your outstanding success on your most recent final. :) :-) :D

It's your life. Anyone else's opinion (other than spouse & children) doesn't matter.

Thank you, thank you. I feel in some way that I have disappointed you with my less than 100% on everything (not really). LOL

On a side note: Thanks Auntie for the other night, it meant a lot to me.

I agree, I wanted the MBA for my resume' but by default I have already started my own business. Almost all of my clients followed me when my company made me a private contractor to avoid insurance (under Obama-fucking-care).

I am a freelance writer/researcher now. I have an LLC already and can amend that to include other areas, it is just a matter of money. Is that not the way of everything?

Yeah, that is what I am going to do, I have the money available, might as well use it before it s gone.

As I have previously said, 2 + 2 =s 5 to me. Your achieving high 90s in math courses is beyond my ability.

You may think the other night is finished. You would be wrong. When something requires serious discussion, I tend to take a great length of time in my response. I will say if it helped in any some manner, it was my pleasure.

If a great number of clients followed you, you are further ahead them some. You know they will send others to you, who will send others and so it will go.

The use of your available funds for your business is a business tax write-off. You know such, but I will reiterate it for you. Actually, check with your accountant and determine if any of your classes are a tax write-off for your business. You know to keep all your receipts for office products, etc. Here comes the one MANY MANY MANY forget- business miles. My niece's husband lost a possible $275 write-off by not keeping track of his mileage. NAGGING- get a small notebook, keep in the car, date, number of miles and name of client, anytime you have to visit their site. It can add up very quickly! As I am in nagging mode, your data line bill is definitely a write-off. I know you are a grownup; however, I am compulsive on some things.

Still proud as punch of you and your success this semester. :!: :!:

Congratulations, LoneGhost.

Three simple words: Family is everthing!

I have lived my life with that in mind. Education and money always play a role in anyone's life. Family is absolutely essential for one to enjoy that life!

You will do well in anything that allows you to enjoy your Family while doing it. You will also enjoy the fact that your Family shared in your success...from beginning to end.

You will treasure your success far more when your Family is involved as fully as possible.

Good luck to you and your beautiful Family!

Thank you, well said. My wife has backed me from the beginning no matter what the cost. Family is the most important thing to a man, time to get back to that.

Yes, I fully understand the ins and outs of the system, more than most I would say.

As for the other thing, you have fulfilled your word, you listened. That is all you promised me, nothing more, and that is all I asked of you. All accounts are settled in my book. You know how to reach me, anything from this point is up to you.

Yeah, I am taking the year, concentrate on my business. See what I can accomplish.
