I got this thing about monkeys in an e-mail today and thought it would be good to share with the members of this forum. It tells us why we need to replace all of them in order to save us from them.

Cute story.

I say it is time to stop bribing public officials. You may call it a donation to get some one elected. But let us call it what it really is. It is money given for a favor. A BRIBE.

It is needed to have all money given to some one seeking public office to account for all money given to them & charged taxes on it & marked as payment for services & who paid it.

Perhaps if it was truly marked as such people would start to view politics in the true light.

Any monies paid for political ads should not be tax a deduction.

There would be no nonprofit political pacs. Any money they take in would be taxable with no tax deductions.

Now if some we had rules like that it would even the playing field a bit for new faces.

But lets face it no one who can make those changes just won't likely do it.

There is a book coming out by, Peter Switzer. The name is "Extortion:How politicians take your money". It is about how politicians on both sides of the aisle extort money from business.

How about we replace your monkeys in Congress? My monkeys are doing just fine. They are standing up to the jackass in the White House.

The monkeys are not the problem. We the citizens are the problem. We send to Washington apes who will take our money and throw peanuts back to us. As long as there is no intelligence test for v**ers there will be no improvement.

We don't bribe our leaders. They bribe us. They promise us free goodies to keep their jobs. Just borrow more money and debase the dollar to pay for it all. When the national debt hits $ 100 Trillion it will come crashing down. In the mean time enjoy the ride. With any luck we'll all be dead when that happens.

The you want to keep your crooks is the reason we will always have the same problems. Because if you can keep yours I want to keep mine.

So if we can't agree on any thing, the problem is who can get the extra couple of crooks.

I guess that is a case of do we keep the crook we know or a new crook we don't know.

I am wondering how many people here really read the story about the monkeys and ice water. It seems that too many failed to read it.

Floydy old boy, my monkeys are not crooks, not that I know of. The original premise was to just throw everyone out. But you and I still want different things so we will v**e in the exact same type of monkey that is already there.

My point is that we are the problem, not the monkeys. I personally think my monkeys are better than your monkeys, but collectively we have filled Washington with banana eating fools. Yet they are still smarter than we are because they are our rulers.

Until your monkeys wipe out mine or my monkeys k**l off your peanut eaters, Washington will be just a continuing manure sling fest.

Okay your monkeys are the good monkeys because they take money from you & do the things that are good for you. But my monkeys take my money but I don't have as much money to give so my monkeys take my money & don't do any thing for me.

Or just reverse every thing if you would. Or face the t***h that they take all the money they can get form any body & take care of them self.

Well, you might want to find out if your monkeys have their own leadership pacs and how they use them.

I had seen this before and it is cute and probably true. All monkeys need to be replaced but not necessarily at the same time. We seriously need to have term limits. The biggest problem with the government is the professional politician. We need to have very serious term limits on all our Federal Government political offices and Judicial appointments. As well as a few rule changes of who can hold the Executive office.

First terms need to be limited to two, regardless of the length, the very fact that it is limited should be enough to stop some of the corruption. All political contributions given to politicians should be taxable as a "gift" ie very high tax. It should also not be deductible for the "gifter" and any money raised on behalf of a political candidate should be taxable as a gift to the recipient of the gift.

Politicians should only be allowed to hold one office EVER. Once the term limit has been hit, then they can't hold another Federal Office EVER. Also, in holding with the previous statement , that would include the President. No congressman should be allowed to run for President. The President should come from the States and probably limited to Governors or Mayors which have experience of Governing at the Executive level or from the private sector. The term for President should be limited to ONE either 4 or 6 year term.
These limits wouldn't solve all our problems, but I think it would go a very long way to getting it done.

Also, the founding fathers got it completely wrong with the Supreme Court. It should be a limited single term of no more that 5 years. The lifetime appointment was just a bad idea, I wonder what they were smoking when they came up with that one?

The founding fathers had many reservations about term limits and warned they were needed.

I have looked at these videos and find them very disturbing. How in the world are we ever going to get back to taking care of the country's business with all this corruption and cronyism?

There is no way these politicians are ever going to curve back their get rich quick schemes. I think there has to be some sort of revolution or something. I'm not sure how constitutional amendments are actually initially generated. If it has to come from the Federal Government then it will NEVER happen. However, if it can be started by a citizen or a State government, then maybe there is hope to end all this B.S., otherwise, it will continue and we will never survive. I think we are in dire straights and failure is imminent.

Why isn't Obama in jail for raising money through foreign donors, which is clearly illegal and we know for a fact that that happened. Why isn't Eric Holder in jail for his conflict of interest which is clearly illegal. I was hopeful that at least some of the politicians were honest but apparently not even one of them are if they don't bring this to the public's attention and start an investigation.
