Democrats’ Hypocrisy Exposed, But Does It Matter? [Updated]

Tonight House Republicans offered a series of measures to restore funding to the national parks, District of Columbia operations and veterans’ services. But House Democrats v**ed against all three measures, sending them down to defeat. So the Democrats’ hypocrisy is revealed: they wring their hands over those poor Americans who want to visit the parks, but when they have the opportunity to fund the parks, they turn it down.

Of course, the Republicans could have passed these measures without any Democratic v**es, but they followed a procedure that required a two-thirds majority, hoping either to pressure Democrats into v****g for the bills, or embarrass them if they didn’t. So the whole thing was political theater.

The Democrats say they won’t pick and choose; either the whole government is funded, or none of it. They evidently don’t see any political risk from keeping popular government services shut down, and they are probably right. The whole shutdown dance is, if not a disaster, then certainly a setback for the Republican Party. Whose idea was it, anyway? Today’s headlines should have been all about the countless problems that attended the launch of Obamacare’s insurance exchanges, but instead, that story was mostly lost in the shuffle. Moreover, Syria has been forgotten and Iran is off the radar screen; the Republicans’ effort to defund or delay Obamacare, which was doomed from the start, has sucked the oxygen out of every other story. It would have been hard to come up with a strategy that more effectively took Democrats off the hook.

Politics is a game played by politicians–a game with very high stakes–and it helps if your side’s politicians are good at it.

Hypocrisey. I see that I have to look that word up in the dictionary. No offense but I couldn't spell the word ether.
The reason I checked it was the spell check marked it as wrong. Hypocrisy is what I found in the dictionary.

Any way If you really want to tee a person off just call them a hypocrite. I know that I would like to say the right thing & never be a hypocrite. I suppose that it it may happen.

Issues are complex & commenting on different topics can some times bring conflicting views.

This was only meant to be a comment on hypocrisy.
I think in government there are many hypocrites.

I think that I may remember how to spell it now.

Did you really read this to the end?

Hypocrisy is spelled correctly. Many errors I may make, but not in the title of a forum.

I did read it to the end.

As you failed to use "Quote Reply", it is unknown to whom your post is addressed.

Was there a memo we all missed declaring you to be the arbitrator of "intelligence"? What exactly do you perceive your qualifications would be?

Do you really want everyone to get bogged down nit picking typos or momentary lapses in spelling?

When you can't support your side with facts then you attack and try to bully the messengers.

Don't l*****ts preach tolerance while they bully people?

How can Obama negotiate with dictator Putin, murderer Assad and Iran and not negotiate with the Republican Congress. He is a spoiled brat; not only that, but he is not a true American, tied to the Muslim Brotherhood and terrorists. Obama is a dictator who thinks he is an emperor. He makes up his own laws and changes laws as he goes along. He loves the Muslims-his bretherin and h**es w***e A******ns (note Travyon Martin case which Holder is still pursuing under federal guidelines-Holder should be in jail on contempt charges by Darryl Issa). Obama is trying to break the back of the USA by raising the debt to enormous proportions, aligning himself with jihadists, allowing Americans overseas to be k**led in Afghanastan and B******i, throwing his arms around Muslim Brotherhood leader in Egypt, o*******wing our allies in the Middle East to bring in the jihadists in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt and Syria; negotiating with the worst country in the world, Iran, that has k**led 286 Marines in Lebanon, k**led Americans in Iraq and Afghanastan, holding a Christian pastor hostage. Obama should be thrown literally out of office, not even impeached. He has broken the laws of the US Government. He is the MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE sent to o*******w the govt of the US.

About hypocrisy: I try to correct all of the spelling mistakes that I make. It takes time but I feel that if we have some thing to say One should try to see that the spelling is right.

The spelling is wrong on the heading. I make so many mistakes of my own & don't wish to put in my head & use miss spellings.

The mistakes made in posts by others are distracting but I don't care & live with it.

According to Webster and Oxford English Dictionary the word is spelled correctly.

As to your last sentence, you are not living with a mistake. If you choose not to believe Webster or Oxford Dictionaries, it is entirely up to you.

This isn't personal about you.

We are here to talk about issues of importance. We tell each other how we know what is going on around us.

I pointed how the heading on this post is spelled wrong.
several have replied on this. If a person can after it having been pointed out to them, be taken as seriously as one should.

As side note.
I come here with a reasonably open mind but many here don't seem to open their minds to the possibility that others may have some sane ideas.

Only an individual unable to open Webster's Unabridged or Oxford Unbridged would not know it is correct as used. I bet you went to public schools did you not?

I will be perfectly honest. It looked totally wrong to me. I actually stopped at a local library, after marketing, to check. I also checked American Heritage. You have to know I am a grammar, punctuation, spelling freak. You are not the first on the forum to take me to task. It is also how the article spelled it, so it is somewhat a quote and should have [sic].
