I am a new member. I am a 65 year old married senior citizen, mother of one son and one daughter and one grandson and one granddaughter residing in the state of Tennessee. My husband is a Vietnam VET who served in the Navy. I was a Democratic but switched to Republican in 2008 because I felt that the Democratic Party was to liberal and supported wasteful programs. I felt that my freedoms were being taken away and the constitution was in danger of being completely rewritten. I'm hoping that I will find more people who agree with my political views and that those who don't agree will be respectful to mine. My most important interest is to find suggestions,answers and solutions to our countries problems.
Hello: My name is Jay and I was once a Republican because my parents were Republican (back in the 1930's) and that because they were fundamentalist Christians who were taught to obey rather than think for themselves. Once I began to study the issues I chose to stand with the principles of life, such as, "do unto others" and that made more sense so I am now a Democrat!
