During my lifetime I have had the privilege of health, wealth, And the ability to say, and do, as I want. I am a citizen of the United States of America.
I have been able to walk free, and come and go as I so please. I am a citizen of the United States of America. I have been able to go to any collage, or vocational school that I so deem best for me. I have been able to marry who I want, and raise a family in safety. All because I am a citizen of The United States of America. And much , much more. Non of this would be possible if it were not for our men and woman in arms. These brave soles, that put there very life on the line each and every day so that I can live in safety. Past or present, they are heroes all. Please accept my humble thanks, for your love of honor, an dedication to duty, and country.

Very good post. I for one am eternally grateful to all of our brave men and women who love our country to the degree that they have given life and in some cases limbs for their country and maintained dignity and honor all the while they were serving. Now if our spineless, useless, money grubbing, power hungry, conniving, betrayers of America, back stabbers, and those whose oath meant nothing to them would get out of the way and let this country flourish America would feel most grateful. Maybe you could save some face if you just choose to resign and leave office peacefully. This once great country could rise from the ashes of the Obama destruction and regain her glory if you all just left.

I am a combat vet from '68. You and I see very differently on political issues and you have seen fit to deride me because of those differing views; I have not returned the invective. I fought for your right to do so and those other freedoms you happened to be blessed with by a gracious God. If you truly want to honor those who have fought for this country, honor the ideals they fought to uphold, such as freedom of speech and the right to dissent, then open your mind and heart. Or is it only an America that suits your personal opinion?

Not every vet is a patriot or willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, for family and country or anything. Yet like on jury duty, something happens when the onus of protecting those ideals inadvertantly falls on our shoulders: 9 out of 10, in my un-researched estimation, answer the call. Why? Because there is a gestalt to this "great experiment" called America that resonates with the soul of humanity in what it means to be the best possible human.

Liberty is a most complex concept, with more questions about its nature than answers. Yet there is no need to be a professor or to dig deeply to be willing to give our all for it: I feel it is in the very heart of who we are, part of the core of our being.

Let see if I got this right shall we. You want me to honor
your freedom of speech, but you are telling me if I honor mine, talking about your opinions, it doesn't count. That its OK if you dissent, but not me. Your hypocrisy is boiling over in the pot Hem-or-hoid.
Do you think you are the only one that fought in combat.
By the very fact there are vets, tells us all, they in fact
were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice . Even you. And for that I thank you.
Your statement ( Not every vet is a patriot or willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, for family and country or anything ), Is disturbing to say the least.

If any man can not find something for which he is willing to lay down his life, than he is nothing more than a s***e to all
that will.

As far as my personal opinion goes about my America. The one that I was born into. There is a right way, and a wrong way. There is nothing complicated about liberty or freedom. You either have it, or you don't. Life is not complicated. It's fools that won't mind there own business,
that try very hard to make it so. You know, the ones don't you. Like the ones that say, well she is only a little bit pregnant. The ones that state a fact, and than proceed to dumb it down. Just like the " educators " of today.

Just because I don't like what you say some times, in no way diminish your right to say wh**ever you want. So don't play that game with me. Many have tried, and lost.

My original post on this subject stands, now and forever.

Thank you all, who have chosen to put on the uniform.
My God bless you, Past and present. RETW
