Here is another example of the Obama admin's seeming God like authority. Kerry is going to sign this bill without going through the Senate who have said they will not ratify it. Why are we paying all of these congress people if Obama just bypasses them and does what he wants?

As for the other content. It is early and I am only my first cup of coffee, but it sure sounds to me like Obama is making yet another end run around the constitution. He can not get the American people to bow down to his gun control laws so he is maneuvering us into having the U.N. treaty dictate our gun laws. If we sign this then we will be subject to international gun laws rather than domestic ones.

I was wondering why we have Congress who just v**es 42 times to repeal ACA, which has not a prayer of happening. Why can't they work on something they can do something about, like jobs?

We have an out of control Administration, an out of control Senate, an out of control press, and as all are validated by the Constitution, we cannot easily rid ourselves of them. When the federal government got into the business of controlling individuals' lives, it marked the beginning of tyranny which we now have. We don't yet have total tyranny, but it's coming, trust me. The feds SHOULD be dealing with affairs of the NATION'S business, not individuals' business. The reason they deal with individuals' business, every aspect of it, is because that's where their v**es and their donations come from. What we should do is stop the money and on every candidate b****t list a "None of the above".

You can bet that anything they do it will be WRONG. It is better that they do nothing. The title question is an excellent question. I cannot think of a single reason.

According to the Constitution, I would say that the Founders saw the Congress as more important than the Executive since they provided it first. Also, in the Constitution we find these words about treaties. "He shall have power, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;

Maybe that part of Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 causes the left some problems. However, think what could happen if they could catch all the Republicans eating in the cafeteria the day before that v**e and contaminate their food. With enough of them absent at v****g time the 2/3 of those present could be handled.
:mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

It will be very embarrassing if Carry signs this thing and the Senate refuses to v**e it in. Since there are only a little over 60 Dem Senators and some of them are shooters, it will be tough for them to get any of the 46 GOP people to v**e for it and they will still be short.

Now we have to convince our Senators to be t***hful on that v**e. Clinton was held back from signing that thing and if Carry does it I think he and Obama will be embarrassed.

I just heard on TV that the bastard Carry HAS SIGNED THAT TREATY and is trying very hard to explain it away in ways that will take in everyone on the left.

Both major political parties should do the honorable thing and disband. That would be a start. The next thing should be that state governors demand a sit down chat with the full Congress, no holds barred. The next thing should be that the STATES decide how much money is sent to DC thereby indirectly writing the budget for the national needs. The next thing should be that every citizen v****g should have to be able to answer the simplest of questions re politics and the e******n to be handed a b****t. Second thing should be that all people on welfare should be required to do SOME type of civil service in exchange for their welfare check and other goodies - and that money should NOT be as much as minimum wage. I could go on and on - and often do, but that's my idea of a start.

This is less about congress and more about politics at the UN. Russia and 22 other haven't signed it. Kerry is getting brownie points with Ban Ki-moon and other UN celebs for a future strategy that likely is against Russia or the 22 others. Any politician who believes the UN would even think of trying to enforce a gun law on us Yankees is merely being opportunistic. Some gun rights supporters won't even blink before making a contribution when reading one of these articles. I guess campaigns are getting salty and some got to use every opportunity to raise a dime.

I am excessively late to the forum.

If, and the last Senate v**e only won by 4 v**es, the Senate v**es against it, it has no standing. You need to keep up with when the next v**e on this matter comes to the Senate and CALL, CALL, CALL, CALL every Senator you an.

If you research your history you'll find that the founding fathers, I think it was George Washington, were against the idea of political parties. And to v**e at that time a person had to be able to answer some basic questions. And the pay wasn't the greatest at the time, but the intent was to keep someone from making a life long career of being a politician. This is why we no longer are the United States of America, we are the United Socialist States of America. I guess Kruschev was right.
