It seems that in speaking with the Congressional Black Caucus Obama was warmly cheered when he told the assemblage that he intended to go back after repeal of the 2nd Amendment. I wonder if he thinks repeal is the real answer and how long he thinks it would take to round up all the guns so bad people wouldn't be able to get them so easy. I wonder how much of his DHS army he thinks it would take for that roundup.

He did not say he was going to repeal the second amendment. If you want to prove to me he did then show me the video. He is going back to look at gun safety measures, not a repeal of the second amendment. Stop looking at the headlines people and read the meat, do your research.

"Gun safety measures" is just a change in the language and talking points to make it sound all warm and fuzzy. Gun safety is what all responsible gun owners practice each and every time they handle a firearm. They have simply replaced the word control with safety.

I sat and listened to all 19 minutes of that thing to make sure that he did not say the words although about 9:00 he sure did imply that he is 'fired up" and ready to repeal. He did not say the words and I know that now but I listened and I don't think that Molly read my link where nowhere does it talk about repeal. You do your work from headlines, right?

You are very right about words and semantics but so many people are fooled by all that.

Ok.. first off I obviously go deeper than the headlines. If I only read headlines I would believe, from that article, that Obama wants to repeal the second amendment. But I know where the President stands on this issue so I knew it was not true, but out of curiosity I rea further. It mentions it in the article too. SO then the first poster says if its true then blah blah blah... they obviously didn't read the article or they would see that no where in any of the direct quotes did he say that. Then their was a quote box of a quote from you that repeated that he wanted to return to the black caucus after he repealed it. Also inaccurate. This is my whole beef... so many people fail to do the homework. Stop believing everything you read... only get your information from a direct quote and not a total twist of what was actually said. So many people will just read the headline and be like wow.. that President is so unamerican... repealing the second amendment... they fail to read the article or know how to extrapolate actual factual information. ANd when in doubt, they fail to go research it themselves and move on to the next headline from an obviously biased source or the next meme thrown out from someone with an axe to grind who hasn't done their homework either.. or has and just chooses to ignore the facts and try to tear down the other party through a misinformation campaign of their own.

And hopefully you eat your words on that. It's not going to happen, and when it doesn't will it at all change your perception of the man? Or will you continue to put words in his mouth and accept them as fact?
