As for President Barack Obamas claim that his presidency has helped mobilize America on behalf of issues of racial disparity, Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. said the opposite is true and Obama is hallucinating if he thinks he has improved race relations in Ameirca.
On Hannity on Tuesday, part of the discussion focused on race relations in America under Obama. The host, Sean Hannity, and guests Sheriff Clarke and Geraldo Rivera agreed that race relations had become worse under the current administration.
But as for President Obama, he is hallucinating if he thinks he has improved race relations in America, said Sheriff Clarke. The polling shows otherwise. He's delusional if he really believes that.
Look, race relations have always been tenuous in America, said the sheriff. S***ery and discrimination have left an ugly scar on the soul of America, but that scar has been healing over the years.
President Obama came along with sandpaper, rubbed it raw, and then poured salt in it to inflame it for political gain, said Sheriff Clarke. He doesn't believe that and neither does anybody else.
Geraldo Rivera said, To me, the president has failed most profoundly in the area of race relations.
In an NBC interview on Monday, President Obama said, I am very proud that my presidency can help to galvanize and mobilize America on behalf of issues of racial disparity and racial injustice.
I do so hoping that my successor who is not African-American if he or she is not that theyll be just as concerned as I am because this is part of what it means to perfect our Union, said Obama.
David Clarke Jr., a Democrat, was elected sheriff of Milwaukee County, Wisc., to four-year terms in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014.
