I call it "desperation", which is all the explanation I can come up with. All of us do it, at one time or another, but some more often than others - especially during e******n campaigns. There are few of us who believe that anything a politicians says is the absolute t***h, but we still "pick" one or two to pin our hopes on, at least pretending to believe what they say.

When was the last time a politician actually did what they said they'd do, when they convinced us to v**e for them? I can't remember, but maybe your memories are better, but we still re-elect them, hoping that eventually they'll come through on at least one of their promises. Doesn't that sound like desperation to you? What else can we do?

If every politicians is a liar, about something anyway, and we have to elect one of them, how do we choose? Do we choose the one we think lied the least, or do we look for the one's that lied the most and use the process of elimination? I don't think there's an American alive today, that does NOT think that politicians have only one person they really care about, themselves, but we'll still fall in line with one of them anyway - out of desperation.

Few, if any, of the "problems" a politician takes as their trademark during a campaign, will actually be addressed if they are elected - because there are hundreds of other politicians who all have trademark "problems" that got them elected too. So, with hundreds of "problems", and hundreds of "solutions" and hundreds of "promises" to keep, it isn't a surprise that the politicians decide that it's too difficult to deal with - so don't.

We have to sort through partisan platforms, individual candidates "break out" platforms, the problems WE know about, and what all the politicians are telling us are the REAL problems, or the problems we SHOULD be concerned about - and decide what's real, imaginary or a serious concern - then decide who best "represents" our hopes about all of it. Based on the history of the last twenty years or so - we've all chosen wrong - because things have gotten only worse.

Knowing we're being lied to, by everybody currently in Government and those wanting to be in Government, we have only two choices; Choose not to make a choice ( which IS a choice in itself ), so we can blame someone else when things go south, or choose to pick one of the liars and hope like hell they didn't lie too much - and pretend we believe them. We pretty much know we're going to get screwed anyway, so I guess we'll try to pick someone that we think won't hurt us too badly - so we'll be all healed up by the time the next screwing is due.

Assuming you aren't a member of the 1%, the "we" you refer to is mostly the working class or those retired from the working class. "We" don't have any political v****g power any more. That power completely disappeared with the "Help America V**e Act." V**es in cyberspace cannot be verified.
If the candidate chosen by corporate America does not get enough v**es, those counting the v**es will see that they do.

But even this is not necessary in most cases because corporate America and corporate media has seen to it that the final candidates of both parties will do their bidding.

Until E-v****g is abolished and campaign finance is reformed, we don't have anything resembling a democracy.

I call it maturity and realism.
I also put the candidates statements in the same column due to the fact that many Americans are delusional about what to expect from the people they v**e into office.
One expects adults to understand the function of government and governing at least on some simplistic level.
What do we get and accept from each other?
People refer to our elected officials as ruling which is ridiculous.
People ask or accept questions from the media asking p**********l candidates what they will do about situations that the candidates do not and cannot control.
So making a choice ultimately means prioritizing issues and choosing a candidate according to those issues.

I believe, CM, that since the "earthly" forces, now known as "demon-rats," got into "motor-v**er" and "race-card" politics, JFK, moralities and fairness went out-the-window. The old JFK Party now supports OWS, MB, CPUSA, SPUSA, ISIS [ISIL], Code Pink, CAIR, ACORN, L**T, B*M and the New {Muslim/C*******t} Black Panther Party; just to name a few. It will certainly be hell to be a front-line infidel, low-information useful i***t with the quiet and deceptive, [American taxpayer financed] invasion of "jihad," from the ME, our purposely porous southern borders, and our American Citizen Documentation and HLS now controlled by pro-Sharia, Islamic interests; assigned directly from the WH. Hummmmmmm. But God works in mysterious ways.

Haha! What's wrong with that, is the "new" person - is a clone of the "old" person. No one gets to run for office that hasn't been vetted by the party leadership, if they do, they'll certainly lose, because the party will work against them.

Look at this; Bernie Sanders is running as a Democrat - but the DNC ignores him - and does it's best to encourage the MSM to ignore him as well. Why do they do that? Well, because Bernie isn't really a Democrat, he's an Independent - which makes him a worse enemy than a Republican. The DNC would rather see a Republican win - than a damn Independent - because Independents aren't loyal to ANY party.

So, if the "new" person is a Democrat or a Republican - you know automatically that they'll be just like the "old" person - regardless of what they've said in their campaign lies. That's the beauty of having Democrats and Republicans working together behind the scenes, they make damn sure that there are no rogues getting into office. If you think the "tea party" upset things in DC - think again - it was planned from the start - believing that it will get a Republican "good 'ol guy" elected President in 2016.

 Yep, it's come down to "the least worse alternative". It's a damned shame, but it's reality. There is also the tendency to try to pick someone who we THINK will beat someone who we know would be the most destructive if elected.

My Father always said measure not a person by their words but their action..I have found this to be solid advice over the years...Come e******ns I always look at their record, what they stood for, and accomplished and then the state they represent...More often than not its a better objective than the lies they spew getting into office...

With Trump and Sanders, same measurement, what do they stand for, how successful, and what they did for their communities etc......Not words...Words are cheap......

As for things we always believe I tell you Santa is real.......He is too~~

Haha! What's wrong with that, is the "new&quo... (show quote)

"Bernie" is a self proclaimed Socialist, major; and another demonrat "jumping the shark." "There's NO turning back" [Alinsky], and Saul also warned in (his) "Rules...," "for the [Marx/Alinsky] c*******t movement [in Western civilization] to be 'exposed' would lead to a rapid crushing." The original c*******t movement actually visually surfaced in America in the late '60's, {SDS/Weather Underground} to stop our free-market Western culture that was just starting to ravage their comrades in Vietnam. When world-wide "journalism" and liberal progressive [c*******t] politics realized the advantage of merging [near the end of the 19th century], "the camel got his nose under [our] tent." OWS is the modern-day version of the low-information, useful i***t c*******t anarchy that is necessary to implement a deceptive and deceitful o*******w of any similence of government that is less-than c*******t. Even Socialism, as Canada is about the realize, is not the full-blown c*******m [Totalitarianism/Theocracy] that has been "pushed" by control-freaks, dictators and tyrants throughout history. America was different. A "Shining Light on the Hill," a "divinely inspired experiment;" and not only the envy of every nations' citizen, but, later, a breeding ground for diabolical "earthly" government intrusion. God works in mysterious ways, and to try to understand His immediate plan is beyond the capacity of mere mortals; but don't be fooled by those who profess other ideologies than "THE WORD."
