A definition of the new Republicans

Not sure if any of you watch the HBO show newsroom but in last episode of the season a great staccato like recitation by Will McEvoy character on why he is a republican but a RINO to the current bunch and cannot be a republican as it is defined now:

The problem is NOW:

I have to be h********c
I have to count how many times people go to church
I have to deny facts and think that scientific research is a long con
I have to think poor people are getting a sweet ride
And I have to have such an inferiority complex that I fear education and intellect in the 21st century
Most of all the biggest requirement is that I have to h**e Democrats and I have to h**e Chris Christie because he didn't spit on President Obama when he got off Air Force One.

I post this of course expecting the usual characters to come out and talk trash but what is incorrect in this description above from an objective point of view and accordingly why is it a surprise that many intelligent people who once were republicans now called RINO's are fed up with the republicans?

BTW the recitation was relatively mild to be acceptable even on cable.

Hmmmm, is this art imitating life? No matter, it is a perfect description of republicanism

I am a Republican. I am not h********c. I have never seen anyone watching me go to church.
I don't mistrust ALL scientific research--just the clowns that said there was man-made g****l w*****g. SOME "poor" people definitely getting a free ride, and I don't think it's good for them or the country. (Look up what's going on in the Netherlands today.) I definitely don't fear education--but I don't trust that the govt. should be involved in it. I don't h**e democrats or Chris Christie, either. I have a feeling there are more former democrats than there are former Republicans, and I think I speak for many Republicans. This show is certainly not considered a right-wing production anyway.

Wow an intelligent reply, thanks for that, now if you could say that the majority of the constituency that calls itself republican these days had similar sensibilities it would have been even more impressive..sadly I don't think that is possible.

Today we watched Speaker Boehner of course while saying it wasn't true (and also obviously with his heart not really in it) say we will shut down the government if you don't negate a law we can't negate by the constitutional process that exists...this is anarchy not governance but the new republicans seem to embrace this, while mouthing the constitution as their guiding force! for most logical people that is hypocrisy and dangerous hypocrisy and as said it smacks of anarchy and certainly at the least not serious mature action.

And PS wait 5-10 years and then see if the scientific pronouncements on man made c*****e c****e are such malarkey as you suspect...and do you suspect that with some actual body of knowledge or just what you feel or want to be true.

If those reasons are so distasteful for being a "Republican", why not just run as a "Democrat"? Why do so many politicians want to make people believe they are "Republicans" when they run for office?? Obviously, they believe they would get more v**es as a Republican. It's like the muslims being taught that it's OK to lie until they win.

Perhaps gerrymandered districts are the reason some run as dems, some run as repubes, best chance to win

They should do it no matter what it takes! Not one Republican v**ed for that mess. If you haven't been affected by it yet--good for you, but you will be affected. Not only Republicans oppose the obamacare "law". It's opposed by a majority of Americans. It gets into your bedroom, into your bank account, into your job (in a big way), into your religion, into our schools, and I'm sure into your health care. Wake up, before the muslims walk in and wipe us all out! This opens the door to any foreign takeover.
