I ask that question because the link provided by me uses that title. I had to wonder about what we have become. So much of that double standard crap, tied to political correctness. Is there anybody here who would like to tell me how much of this editorial is untrue and why it appears to be so?

I really like and whole heartedly agree with that letter, thanks for sharing it. I personally do not think one word of it is untrue. Of course I am one of those nasty, evil conservatives who think America has become morally bankrupt, with a twisted sense of ethical values. The more degenerate or abhorrent the behavior/thinking that is allowed, the more degenerate and abhorrent it will become.

The closest things to compare America to may be Sodom, and Gomorrah

I will soon post a different editorial that was written on a Texas blog and pointed out something wrong with every thing Huber said. However that will only be for leaners to use in their arguments. I just can't find anything wrong with what he said.

so sad that what you have said is so true. I can only hope that a time will come when we can get back to the America I grew up in. getting the liberal push out of all the schools and get back to teaching American History, math, science, English, writing, the things growing children need to learn to become prosperous adults.

I just read an e-mail about what life was like back in the 1950s when the originator grew up and had to say that I was in college and the Army during those years. However, I have not forgotten the years, either.

I taught American History up to 1986 and never taught anything like is being taught these days. The progressives had already taken over the printing of texts by then, though, so I just kept using old books. What is being taught these days is kind of embarrassing to me.

They don't teach history or anything productive. Just socialist propaganda.

Well for one thing,,,,, Katrina,,,, I was on the command ships,,, and Bush DID something,,,, the problem, associated with posse comitatus is that the civilian governor had a job to do and didn't do it....... A Military commander cannot land on a sovereign state without the legal government asking them,,, she didn't do that. That is why the military help was late. Like the general said,,"Stuck on stupid" Being a Governor is important and it is more than fund raising parties and visiting with the uppity ups... she found that out, and mayor Nagin was an i***t.....We don't want to change that rule either,, we don't want military action at the discretion of the commander, or the commander in chief... bad precedence....WE (the Military) were ready, the civilian govt of LA and NO was not on the job......

I promised some proof that all of Huber's editorial was nothing but lies and here it is. Of course, this link is from a left leaning blog so maybe it isn't so seriously true but it does offer many attempts at proving Huber wrong and none of our leaners have joined in so we can discuss this.

It was fun hearing all the noise from the Demoncraps post-Katrina. Whenever one of us told them that their governor and mayor hadn't asked for help yet they went wild about Bush just ignoring the situation. The best part of all that was the evacuation plan that had been drawn up by Nagins and his people a year before the hurricane and approved by DHS, that called for evacuation using the school buses he cried about being under water. Of course, the evacuation should have been done before the storm hit but Nagins was so excited about the storm abating to a 3 from 4 and he didn't want to mess up his tourist trade. He hoped it wouldn't go back to Cat 4 and it did and he was dead. How bad was all that? Well now both of them were re-elected so I guess not bad at all.

I remember back in the 30's Il Duce, Musolini was running rampant In Italy. But the Italians said, don't worry. The trains run on time. People just don't want to face unpleasant t***hs.

Jindal failed to be elected Governor in 2003 but he came back in 2007 and won, much because of what Blanco had not done in 2005. Many thought he would run with Romney in 2012 but he never talked like he even wanted to.

Now can we talk about what has happened to the US? I know you don't want to change the subject as good progs do, but I want us back on topic, if we can get there.

Well I think we are on topic,,,,, the point is that americans are not like our government,,, and the NOLA flooding shows that most of the elected are incompetent and don't understand the seriousness of their jobs,,, but then somebody (some dumb bodies) elect these worthless representatives for some reason that I cannot decipher,,,, it isn't what they SAY it is what they DO or have DONE that actually matters. We need to elect people of substance, good character, and performance, not because a party chief tells us to. Make sense?
