Well for one thing,,,,, Katrina,,,, I was on the command ships,,, and Bush DID something,,,, the problem, associated with posse comitatus is that the civilian governor had a job to do and didn't do it....... A Military commander cannot land on a sovereign state without the legal government asking them,,, she didn't do that. That is why the military help was late. Like the general said,,"Stuck on stupid" Being a Governor is important and it is more than fund raising parties and visiting with the uppity ups... she found that out, and mayor Nagin was an i***t.....We don't want to change that rule either,, we don't want military action at the discretion of the commander, or the commander in chief... bad precedence....WE (the Military) were ready, the civilian govt of LA and NO was not on the job......

It was fun hearing all the noise from the Demoncraps post-Katrina. Whenever one of us told them that their governor and mayor hadn't asked for help yet they went wild about Bush just ignoring the situation. The best part of all that was the evacuation plan that had been drawn up by Nagins and his people a year before the hurricane and approved by DHS, that called for evacuation using the school buses he cried about being under water. Of course, the evacuation should have been done before the storm hit but Nagins was so excited about the storm abating to a 3 from 4 and he didn't want to mess up his tourist trade. He hoped it wouldn't go back to Cat 4 and it did and he was dead. How bad was all that? Well now both of them were re-elected so I guess not bad at all.
