It's not often that a Democratic mayor decides to take on unions and his own city council to veto a minimum-wage hike.

It appears that we may be getting smarter after having to put up with OI******s fair speeches for five years. Maybe people are getting to a place after having many lose full time jobs and be put on part time to realize that OIllegal is destroying our country and they are getting fed up with the unions and the democrats in general.

Maybe you haven't noticed that the"money people" have sent most of the full time jobs across the pond and you blame Pres. Obama. But he doesn't create jobs....that comes from the 'house' shhh....don't awaken them.

Oi******s: If you are referring to the i*****l i*******ts. I can remember a proposal to fine the employers for hiring them...that went over like a lead balloon, but that would have solved most of the problem real quick....but why it was turned down was that it would hurt the business.

The Congress could bring forth bills to put men to work on infrastructure, schools, hospitals, etc., but they hold true ....not to let Pres. Obama to get credit.

And the unions....Oh! Yes! Let's give full rein to the employers to fire for no reason.

Lets look at that. Where is the security when you want to buy a car or a house....the banks would LAUGH at you. "Where is your security at work young man...you don't have any....sorry."

The very reason that unions were created was to protect the worker from unscrupulous, greedy employers....to give them the security to achieve their American Dream.

The info you get from your conservative media is what they want to tell you to keep you.

But he doesn't create jobs....that comes from the 'house' shhh....don't awaken them. Jobs go overseas when the cost of labor and taxes become too high in this country. Labor unions drive up the cost of labor, and essentially price themselves out of work. The U.S. has the second highest corporate tax rate in the world, which keeps foreign investments and companies from coming to this country. BTW, how did that $865B stimulus package, that was passed as a jobs bill, work out? Where are all the jobs? The dirty little secret is that the money went to the unions and Democrat cronies.

Oi******s: If you are referring to the i*****l i*******ts. I can remember a proposal to fine the employers for hiring them...that went over like a lead balloon, but that would have solved most of the problem real quick....but why it was turned down was that it would hurt the business. Democrats want the i******s as v**ers, and businesses want the i******s for cheap labor. What we need to do is close the borders and go back to the pre-1970s and only allow 276,000 immigrants a year into the country

The Congress could bring forth bills to put men to work on infrastructure, schools, hospitals, etc., but they hold true ....not to let Pres. Obama to get credit. And, how do you suggest they do that? Like a CCC program like they had before WWII, a program paid by the taxpayers? That's not a solution. How about lowering taxes overall, thereby freeing up more money for capital investments? Even if the House came up with a jobs bill, the Democrat controlled Congress would k**l it, or not even bring it up for a v**e.

And the unions....Oh! Yes! Let's give full rein to the employers to fire for no reason. Now you're finally coming up with something worth while, it's called "right to work law." We have that in my state and it works very well. An employer should be able to fire any worker they please, with no reason - it's their company, not the worker's or the union's.

Lets look at that. Where is the security when you want to buy a car or a house....the banks would LAUGH at you. "Where is your security at work young man...you don't have any....sorry." Companies can no longer guarantee work for life (or until retirement), even Japan done away with this. Large worker pension systems is what got GM in trouble, as well as other companies.

The very reason that unions were created was to protect the worker from unscrupulous, greedy employers....to give them the security to achieve their American Dream. Had a purpose in the 30s and 40s, but no longer. In case you haven't noticed the big unions are in trouble, members are tired of paying those high dues and are dropping out. Unions are nothing more than legal money laundering, they collect dues, and then funnel it to the Democrat Party in campaign donations.

The info you get from your conservative media is what they want to tell you to keep you. Far more accurate and factual than the liberal media, who distort, skew, and hide the real facts.

What you haven't addressed is how does the family attain their American Dream.

What you haven't addressed is the imbalance in our trade policies.

You evidently know how to close the borders so spit it out...it has been going on for a few administrations.

You say lowering taxes...we had better overall economies when the taxes were higher. Check it out. And don't discard what Reagan did and the result.

Knowing that a person can be fired for little or no reason does not embrace loyalty to an employer...leaving a good possibility of going to a competitor after being trained.

You say 'even if the Congress came up with a jobs bill'.... enough said.

And you say distortion in media...I know this from both sides of the aisle. The Republicans are not interested in moving the country forward ...their only aim is to destroy Pres. Obama with any means possible.

John Boehner kept saying "jobs" before the e******n but after that never parted his lips...that was just another ploy. And Senator Mitch McConnell wants to deny the Pres. a second term. There is no hiding behind the FACT that their mission was/is to destroy the Pres. who won the second term from the PEOPLE and not the Supreme Courts APPOINTMENT and the v**es being juggled by Jeb Bush in Florida.

They have pretty much run out of ideas and go to recycle the old ideas like birther, muslim, not a Christian, wanting to go to war when it is evident he wants to get us out of war. on and on they go.

And look at the ratings of our Congress the lowest in history.

And you say the Democrats "hide the real facts." That looks like da ja vu all over again. "Real" facts....facts are facts. The Republican campaign manager before the e******n stated that he was not going to change his strategy because of facts. How cool is that?

Bill Moyers, who I am sure you know stated in his "Facts Still Matter" stated that we will often twist facts so they better fit our preconceived notions.

And I might add that since you think you have all the answers you are wasting your time on this thread and depriving the country of a true patriot. Sadly it is sad. I will await your answer on how we get to buy a car let alone a house....and don't give me this tax crap.

Typical clueless liberal bulls**t! I'm not even going to waste my time addressing each of these clueless statements. This is EXACTLY why we have the stagnant economy that we currently have with clueless thinking like this. And, with like-minded liberals in charge it will not get any better.

Lower taxes...lower taxes....lower taxes....lower taxes!!!!!!!

I wasn't expecting any surprises and didn't get any...nothing to the point.

We went approximately 50 years until Pres. Reagan with higher taxes and without a recession. Ya can hardly beat that.

It is not bovine excrement. You just can't challenge it obviously. Enough said.

You love to spew bulls**t don't you? I can challenge it, but with you it would be a total waste of time. Enjoy your stagnant economy, it was your party that built it. Good day!

Like I said, it would be a total waste of my time debating with him, or you. Like spitting into the wind. You're both clueless.

I'm not going to play tennis with you unless you have something other than kindergarten grammar. Bye bye I'm finished with this thread.
