Social Darwinism: is it as bad, or good, as it sounds?

Republicans generally push for the privatization of a number of industries, such as social security and education; A voocher system (although that phrase has been outlawed by Party central) for investment and charter or private schools to replace any government role. Seeming to be just the American way of action, this is covered by social darwinism. Instead of looking to regulate fairness and e******y, it opens it to competition, where those in power or with money have a decided edge, being "the fittest." Capitalism captures evolutionary imperatives perfectly. It is not the millions upon millions of hardworking and decent people that have made America great, it is the entrepreneur and "job-creators," the supposed top of the food chain guys, that is responsible.

A definition: essentially it comes down to the crux of evolution, "the survival of the fittest." Yet strangely it is almost always used in a pejorative sense, appearing to have no open proponents.

Millions of people--again, hardworking and decent people--lost their jobs, homes, and everything they had in this financial crisis, which was totally beyond their control.
These are not slouchers. The majority of food stamps and other aid has gone to this group since 2008. The ideology of unspoken "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" (social darwinism) rings loud in the bewailing of entitlements.

Gingrich called president Obama 'the food stamp president": no insult, just his heritage from the previous presidency. (PLease! no portests; it is the simple t***h. Yes, granted, now is different.) Let them starve? Why not? We did that in the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. And for a century before that. But we were small enough back then where communities kept it from being like the potato famine in Ireland where millions died.

News FLASH! Your false God Obama is directly responsible for this economy, unemployment, especially the extra young black unemployment, and weaking America's defences. Obama is the cause of the World laughing its ass off at Obama and his childish incompetence. Obama is responsible for the Muslim Brotherhood rise in the Middle East.

Yet you continue to WORSHIP the man. You blame everybody and thing but the one responsible. At some point Obama will not be able to shift blame from himself.

I do not worship the man. I am, in fact, growing more disappointed by the day in him. What you wrote in no way responds to the thread. Which is your choice, as an American. But this insidious disease called social darwinism infects the right and will prove fatal for this country.

We have at the base of how to look at things those that feel, without apparent compunction, no aid should by the government for the disadvantaged. Hard luck, so?
