You are so right. After reading the posts for a couple weeks it is obvious that many here including myself have their values and opinions set in stone. I am a conservative not a Republican. The biggest difference between the conservative bloggers and liberal bloggers that I have observed so far is what each side considers American Values. I have seen the conservative side offers many more historical facts to justify their opinions. The liberal side seems to be much more angry in these "debates". Some on both sides but many more on the progressive side resort to name calling and childish insults when they cannot prove their point or their opinion is disagreed with. I have learned that generally when an elected conservative strays from his stated ideals prior to e******n conservatives will hold them accountable and many times kick them out. Liberals hardly ever hold their elected leaders accountable. They constantly change the meaning of their words and actions to justify bad behavior (Bill Clinton). Oh well, sorry I rattled on so long, waiting for football to start.

I am a conservative, and only registered as a Republican so I can v**e in the primaries, otherwise I would register as a Independent. The current bunch of RINOs and good old boys (Republican liberals and moderates) are not much different than the moderate Democrats - I didn't include the radical left Democrats, who have hijacked the party.

That seems to be the difference. The radical left has hijacked the Democratic Party for sure. My problem with the left can be summed up in one word T***H. The t***h seems to be what ever they want it to be. If the left thinks the Constitution is outdated, irrelevant, r****t, wh**ever have the guts to say that. If you think the European economic structure is what you believe in tell the t***h. Can they name 1 thing that has gotten better since Obama took over? They will spout when Bush left office we were losing 700,000 jobs a month. All true. What they won't tell you is between Bush leaving and Obama occupying that amount of people losing jobs per month was dropping dramatically on its own.

Thank you, AuntiE. I'm glad it was you who replied to my first post since my "leave of absence."

I had a look at the list of current topics, and thought this one might be a little less ferocious than the exchanges that turned me off OPP for awhile. We shall see.

Did y'all miss me?

I think it is utterly fair to say that some on both sides do an eqaul amount of name calling and insults. Of course, when one is labeled liberal or conservatives by members here, it will appear by that experience liberals or conservatives are more h**eful, more prone to insults and name calling.

I consider myself an independent. I have commented on some issues where I appeared liberal and on others the reverse. Only on the liberal-appearing ones was I attacked. My experience. And I have never called anyone a name. I believe I have never been insulting, though two people said I can be condescending in my posts. That is subjective but worth taking precations over; it is possible I got on a high horse. Party affilation or label by liberal or conservative means nothing to me.
