It is always nice to be reminded of what an idiot Donald Trump is.
I have to get that in, because if he actually is elected I will have to be gentler in my descriptors. ;-)
I just stumbled upon this forum, and am pleased to find an alternative on OPP. I'm not sure it is necessary for a variety of opinions, as the main forum has that. But, if it is a way to avoid the vitriolic behavior of 'warring' factions and introduce more civility and courtesy towards others...I'm all for it!
Regarding this thread...I have suspected for some time that Mr. Trump's ambitions for the White House was motivated by the 'roasting' he took at that particular White House Correspondent's Dinner a few years back from President Obama. His ego could not/cannot handle being humbled like that. I made it clear upon his announcement to run for the office of president, I do not care for the man at all. I described him then, I believe, as a 'self-aggrandizing charlatan.' I still hold to that opinion of him.
As a moderate, I often lean both left and right, depending upon the subject matter or topic...so, I expect to begin making frequent visits to this site. I hope to be able in my efforts to make some worthwhile comments and/or contributions to the discussions.

Welcome.......I really don't think Trump has a chance to win the White House...and it is amazing how thin skinned he is...and he never forgets...but it's very early.....we'll see when he dies down

As frightening a thought as Trump being president is...I would have to hope that, somehow, if elected, he would be successful towards providing for the well being of our nation. My personal feelings for candidates do not involve actively condemning them or opposing their being effective while in office. Our country needs to support any person who occupies that office/position.
However, I see him being an unmitigated disaster waiting to happen in the field of politics, diplomacy, or statesmanship. Time will tell. :|

Everyone who steps into that office gets a rude awakening. The power and control that you expect is limited by checks and balances.

I think with marriage the illusion lasts a little longer. One day you just wake up and realize that "yes dear" opens many doors.

Love to have you!
It has been my thought that those who are leaning left have enough of a variety in thought to keep it interesting once we get rolling.
