Disputable Matters

Romans14:1: "Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters." But whose faith or insight or study is weak? The least popular?

Paul, a devoted enemy of Christ, persecutor of Christians, became the greatest spokesperson for his message. If anyone failed in all categories to speak for our faith, it was Paul. Not today, of course. But then...yes! So why believe him? He never met Christ, never heard his words or saw him in action: why give him any weight at all? He argued with the Apostles in Jerusalem: how dare he? Circumcision was a point of faith, and on his own he made it disputable.

These are all--ALL!--disputable matters (but I will shorten the list):
-Same-sex marriage
-Prohibition on homosexuality
-Abortion
-Involvement in government
-Patriotism
-Capital Punishment
-The Sabbath
-The Ten Commandments

There are twenty more points many Christians take as undisputed, from both sides of the question, that we can consider. What is central is maintaining fellowship in our arguments, treating each other with loving kindness and gentleness, in these PETTY disagreements.
The Rapture appears not to be biblical, not even close, yet the if and when is hotly debated and divisive: that is sin. A Church divided.

These things seem to only be disputable in your mind. Maybe a Christian counselor or even a Christian Psychologist or possibly an Exorcist will help you. Please invest some quality time with a professional. Afterwards, in time, you can come back here and give us an update on your progress or transformation. Thank you and Godspeed.
