I think more people should start their own business if for no other reason than to find out how businesses operate and what it takes to make a business profitable. If more people understood this then when they got a job they would look at it differently and if their business took of ant they hired others that would help the economy. Also if more business owners took of a couple of years and went into politics this country would move in the right direction in a hurry. Today we have to many people in Washington who have either never owned and operated a business or in some cases never even had a regular job in their life.
The long and the short of it is that in our founders minds career politicians were not what they were envisioning for this country. They were all hard working business men who were expecting individuals of there character and work ethic to continue taking time off from there various businesses and farms to come to Washington and sacrifice their time for the good of our country. I honestly would bet that they would be totally repulsed at the thought of a career politician. I am sure that they would consider that person lazy and slothful that they were not gainfully employed in society somewhere and had to receive the bulk if not the entirety of their income from the people.
