I see nothing materially wrong with the particular provision of the Stand Your Ground law as presented in the article. Because a person does not like it is insufficient grounds to say that it is a terrible law. Also, the author includes fallacious reasoning with his argument:

"Stand your ground maintains that the world is your castle and that, if you’re feeling threatened, you are under no obligation to retreat before fighting back."

Here is the passage as cited:

"A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony."

Please note that "who is attacked" is not the same as "feeling threatened". That is a fatal flaw in his argument as the author is redefining the terms. This substitution in no way invalidates the original wording of the law. It clearly states that an attack has occurred.

The problem with this case is that it was made about race from the very beginning. There have been many denials of provable facts in the case just because people found them inconvenient.

The law is fine. What should be severely punished are f**e news organizations like NBC and ABC tht fabricated this whole story and worked the natives into a frenzy. Showing pictures of Travon when he was 11 instead of 17. Showing Zimmerman without a scratch when he had a broken nose and blood all over him. For conveniently leaving out the fact that innocent Travon had a record. For NBC modifying the tape so that it appeared that Zimmerman was being r****t when he wasn't. This same pathetic and irresponsible media single handedly convinced all the i***ts on the left to v**e for this fraud in the white house. That is the problem. NOT the Florida law.
